  1. Who still has their Maverick purchased new?

Hmmm. Don't recal I suppose I lucked out even though it didn't feel like it at the time. Ordered my XLT in '22 and after months I got canceled and then converted to a '23. After I got canceled I ordered a Lariat that came in a few months after the XLT and I got $2k more than I paid for the XLT...
  2. Question about highway speeds

There's probably no difference at all. Eco mode does more regen during low throttle. On the highway with steady load there no regen. Unless there's a hilly area with varying loading. I got very good mpg's in the Ozarks with all the constant ups and downs.
  3. Who still has their Maverick purchased new?

True. But, you can make a difference too. Leftover?! Times have changed. Back in '22 there wasn't a Mav to test drive so I tested a hybrid Escape. Ordered, got canceled to a '23 then upgraded to a Lariat which I totaled. When I traded in the XLT I got $3k more than I paid for it from the...
  4. Loaded hybrid! 12' long piece lumber ~1200lbs

Well, now we know! (That the bed extender can hack it.) I've only used mine to go up so the canoe is level with the roof rack. We need to get creative with that short bed.
  5. What’s the ONE piece of advice you’d give to a new Maverick owner?

I got the cigarette lighter socket dvm and, while probably not as good as testing the battery directly it's still good feedback. Mine has been rock steady on my hybrid for 2.5 years. If it starts deviating I'll know something is up and do more checks.
  6. This will be the last Ford I buy

Yeah, the stellar numbers I've had are directly related to how much it runs on battery. Last year I went to a conference in Chicago, I get to Chicago maybe once a year (don't like the place). Total crap speed up, slow down rush hour on the way home and I was surprised at the 50mpg for the 45...
  7. This will be the last Ford I buy

My experience was down and up. The down was waiting 17 months for my Mav. I got canceled and reordered like you, total hassle. 4 months before it (the XLT) arrived i changed my mind and ordered a Lariat. When it arrived the dealer gave me $2k more than I paid for it so I can't whine about...
  8. What are the small things you only notice after living ...?🤔

I don't miss Facebook but I'm going to rejoin only for the Facebook Marketplace.
  9. Hauling riding lawn mower?

My Troy built 12hp fits nicely into the bed of my Maverick. I just took it to Farm&Fleet for repairs.
  10. Brake fluid flush

The chances of a worst case scenario are very small. And that would probably be the brakes be applied and staying that way because of stuck pistons. You'd have some advanced notice probably with pedal feel. A flush would be good but I'll probably wait myself till 100k miles.
  11. Maverick challenger from Hyundai?

That's what I was thinking of. A good friend had one when I was younger.
  12. Maverick challenger from Hyundai?

There's plenty of jacked up pickups around that are just as difficult. Any cab over or forward cab would be like that. This one might be better lowered.
  13. Maverick challenger from Hyundai?

Looks like a Kei truck. Not legal in the over regulated USA. I like it.
  14. Hybrid vs gasoline

Sure. I find the power adequate. Rather have the efficiency. Just hoping the VVT stays trouble free.
  15. Hybrid vs gasoline

Same for me. I was very interested in the Mav till I found out it was a CVT. Then i heard it was a reliable eCVT and I jumped on it. The smoothness and tech is pretty cool. I wonder what the difference would be if the 2.5 wasn't an Atkinson?
  16. Hybrid vs gasoline

Execpt that there's less electricity to sell with less generating capacity. What happens when demand goes up with less units to sell? They are working on restarting 2 old nuclear plants by me because of the need. One of them near me...
  17. Maverick tried to eat my jacket: sharp door hinge snag

Never had that issue. None of the above?
  18. 12v Refrigerator?

I have a 120/12v cooler that will sometimes ride in the bed. I plug it into the 120v outlet, turn it on and it works fine.
  19. Hybrid vs gasoline

Nothing is free. Any politician that tells you that is a liar. Nuclear power is viable, a viable breeder reactor project my organization (Argonne National Laboratory/ Argonne West) was killed in the mid nineties. I worked sometimes at nuclear power plants, it was the infrastructure that wore...
  20. Just a thought on the auto-hold brake feature

Not just European cars my Buick before my Mav and my Chevy before that had the hand brake. The hand brake is superior.
