Mine is in the truck every night for years now.
  2. DIY REMOVABLE FLEX BED KAYAK RACK

I think I might have that same setup (from Amazon) but I use it a little different.
  3. DIY REMOVABLE FLEX BED KAYAK RACK

I love Unistrut and that rack works but a hitch mounted rack is sooo easy. I'd take your rack, make it 2' longer and you'd have a sleeper!
  4. Hybrid vs gasoline

I don't drive the Maverick that much in the summer (ride the bike) so my hybrid, at a little under 50mpg is the gas hog. But. I bought my Maverick when it was cheaper so there's that. I'd buy one again in a heartbeat.
  5. Hybrid vs gasoline

I'm averaging upper 40s mpg. With gas what it is, long term the battery cost by 200k will be negligible. Don't worry about the battery, just compare the two different vehicles.
  6. XL Hybrid Automatic Parking Brake (Revisited)

The e parking brake is a PITA.
  7. Leaving 2025 Maverick AWD Hybrid (and 23 Escape Hybrid) for 10 days - should we worry about battery?

I suppose it couldn't hurt to hook up a maintainer to the battery but a few times last year I rode my motorcycle for a couple of weeks steady and one time went on vacation and each time I was ready for trouble but it always started fine and the voltmeter in the cigarette lighter socket was normal.

Oh for 1 more foot of length with the bed. You could fit the bikes and close the tailgate.
  9. Hybrid thoughts

Fwd very adequate. I have Blizzaks (snow tires) on spare wheels for the winter and they work well on my steep driveway. Have them on all 4 wheels.
  10. This single tip saves 20% gas!

I had a friend's Dad that would do that. Yeah, makes sense but spending a nice ride looking at the back of a semi........
  11. 2022 XLT Ecoboost rear brakes shot at 21,000 miles.

Any change in the pedal feel or the brake fluid getting low is cause for investigation. The pads are easy to see. Each should be evenly worn and getting close to an eighth inch better change them now.
  12. 2022 XLT Ecoboost rear brakes shot at 21,000 miles.

I'd investigate that damn electric parking brake that I do hate.
  13. Who Says the Maverick Isn't a Real Truck?

Wood heats you twice. When you process it and then when you burn it.
  14. Hybrid thoughts

I drive for efficiency myself but the hybrid isn't really a slouch, especially at low speeds. I've had both the EB and hybrid Maverick and enjoyed both but the low fuel consumption of the hybrid is great. And that smooth eCVT is nice too. They talk about the AWD but I'm happy with the FWD and...
  15. Who Says the Maverick Isn't a Real Truck?

It's a lot cheaper (free) if you get it right from the horses..........well, not mouth. Here's about a half ton of composted horse manure.
  16. Name Something Your Truck Hauled That Made People Stare

I did this before when it was a couple of weeks old. The coworker with an F-250 never again said it wasn't a truck.
  17. Tire replacement time is approaching.

Give us an update later on how you like them. My Continentals are bad in the snow/cold so I swap them for snow tires in the winter which work great.
  18. Maverick Hybrid rodent issues

    Get a vicious killer.
  19. Name Something Your Truck Hauled That Made People Stare

Well. I just got a recall notice, my first. Something about trailer lights (?). When they say something I'll give them your phone number. This will work great , the pile is half gone but still hot and steaming.
