Oh boy! This is my favorite topic. The 2.0 Ecoboost, while overall a great engine, is one of the noisiest most awful sounding engines ever mass produced. Anyone who says otherwise is most likely a half deaf boomer ( no offense half deaf boomers ).
Here is what I did:
1. Maxzina under hood PET...
Form Lighting and Diode Dynamics . They are not for sale yet, should be soon. Their other headlights range from $800-1200 per pair. But if you get the headlights you gotta get the taillights too😀. That’s another $500. Compared to OEM Lariat lights it’s still a bargain.
Like some have mentioned, you are on the threshold of 3 / 4 bars. I noticed this too and did a drive monitoring coolant temp with Forscan Lite. The temp was fluctuating between 178 deg f. and 180 deg. f. 178 = 3 bars 180 = 4 bars.
A little update: after posting pictures, my hood mat started to look a little too DIY and wonky to me. I decided to pull it back down and redo the mounting points. I really didn’t like the supplied screw and clasp hardware. After a lot of searching I found some Honda plastic rivets that worked...
I think is a totally different issue lol. Sorry about your vehicle issues though. It seems the hybrid has many more frequent issues compared to the Ecoboost. The Ecoboost is just noisey as all get out even when it is running 100% .
Are you sure the hanger didn't pop out of the rubber insulator on the support face? The two prongs are supposed to sit in the rubber cups shown above the hanger in the video below. Warning: nails on a chalk board sound:
Based on your description I think I have noticed the same noise. It seems to be RPM dependent and most noticeable at 32 deg. and below.. I notice it most at 2k. Increasing rpm seems to make the hum disappear, decreasing seems to make it lessen. I'm assuming it is just some kind of engine...
Here are the pictures of my hood mat. I could have done a better job with the clips and extra fasteners. Some are not quite symmetrical. Also the cowl insulation and intake wrap. The intake wrap is doing double duty as sound deadening and IAT insulation. The factory intake has heat shielding on...
I will definitely be buying the under-dash kick panels. I wouldn't even mind if they were hard plastic.
Hey Maxzina,
Some members were talking about preferring the Bronco Sport / 2025 Maverick shifter knob to the 2022 - 24 Maverick shifter knob. It would be an expensive swap out just for a...
I added the self adhesive foam to the back of the mat. The mat was fairly stiff but it did sag at certain points. I used a hole punch to add additional fastening points. Maxzina will probably provide you with additional hardware if you message them. Even with the added fastners it still wasn't...
100% it does. Here is my sound deadening setup. Engine cover, hood mat backed with 1/4 HDPE foam, wiper cowl insulator from a Bronco Sport which is also now backed with 1/4 HDPE adhesive foam cut to match the shape, fender well insulators. Not in this picture is 1/8 Armaflex pipe wrap on the...
Here is the 2025 part: https://parts.ford.com/shop/en/us/transmission/powertrain-engine-parts/transmission-selector-p-sz6z7p155a?pdp=y
$220 and backordered, of course.
I am more than happy with their in-channel window visors and hood mat. Especially, the window visors. I tried 3 other brands prior including EGR ( brown tint and razor sharp edges!). I'm as patriotic as the next guy but the days of the blanket statement of Chinese crap and USA quality are over...
Looking at used Bronco Sport and Maverick rotary shift dial modules on Ebay, it looks like the case moldings are different. The Escape and Bronco Sport look interchangeable physically. You might have to wait on a parted out wrecked 2025 Maverick. Unless you think the rotary dial itself could be...
"Vastly superior" may be a bit of an overstatement. The dual injector setup may negate the carbon build up issue, but this can also be managed through full synthetic 5k oil changes and maybe additional air/oil separators. At worst DI engines may need a professional intake cleaning at 50k...
