.. and blowout prone radial tires instead of safe crossply with tubes. Experimental disk brakes instead of well proven drums, and oh lordy lordy they even replaced the windshield wiper vacuum servo with an electric motor.
The pre-compulsory system in my Chrysler was a huge pain in the ass, theoretically you could set it but it kept reverting to default. Default was like 1 psi down and not many psi high. Add to this that the batteries used in the sensors had no voltage below -5C and it yelled at me all winter one...
IDK if you've heard that greek tale about eagles dropping tortoises on rocks. Well apparently some crows, magpies, seagulls, birds of prey etc will do the same to other bird eggs and reptile eggs that they can't peck through easily.... take it up high and drop it on something solid.... so...
I was reading somewhere that all TPMS are the same and they won't actually give you a danger warning until it's under 24 or 26 PSI or something.... basically low enough to derim the tire.
Phew, I thought you were gonna tell me it had hydraulic lifters that would leak and give it lifter tick after 150,000 miles.
Or solid lifters with an adjustment screw that you have to do every 60k or more often if they loosen up.
Maybe I need to give the muscle memory a little while to memorise, but about 1 time out of 10 I am finding I am hitting the trailer pro button instead of the start button.... so if that was less "shaded" by the trailerpro control it would be nice, maybe bulge the dash out a little for it. IDK...
Must admit after driving it round this week, not real upset about being "forced" into Lariat for ACC... seats are great, can only fault them for seeming a tad warm at times. (Did I knock the bun warmer on? No.)
What happened to the last one? Too much of a project? If it was a Sprite, I suspect you found the window seals were bad and unobtanium, and it was hard to get screens in it, and some of the euro fixtures and fittings were a PITA. They are a bit of a challenge to put right even in old Blighty...
Having mixed and matched exhaust parts on different vehicles in the past, I would advise against that. Each manufacturer seems to use a slightly different steel, and when you put them together electrolytic differences mean they rot out real fast.
Yeah I"m not touching it if it breaks down on pavement.
I am thinking the things like unpaved roads where you roll over a hidden branch and it swivels up and half rips off your under-shield or exhaust and you gotta deal with it.
However, since there are a thousand threads on "what emergency...
Looks like a real tight fit into the garage, better take a run at it
But if you ever needed to, it's slightly possible that demounting the AC and rolling it in on used brake rotors might just clear.
