Opposite way round for me. Older Dot 3 would get real dirty and absorb water, needed it changed out more like every 3 years. When the synthetics came in, that was when I started doing it "on condition" so more like 5-7 years. Anyway, if you drove cars for longer than 2 or 3 years and never...
This is what happened on many of my rides, the spare was a temporary spare 'coz it got chucked as soon as I found a full size rim.
Wondering though about a spare that's been "yard art" in the back forty for donkey's years, it just seems to get used for propping stuff and weighing stuff...
For a different car, I picked up some winters that had oxidised paint and a few spots breaking through... just wirebrushed them off and applied cheap walmart rattle can black rust paint. They get the salt and shit for 5 or 6 winters before I next decide to hose them off... still pretty decent...
Yes it's a bit on the level of complaining about the highbeams because when you pull up to your white garage doors with them on, you get dazzled, well ...... don't
Not my favorite trim, but it's a solid 3rd. Actually it does get the special award for being the only trim that doesn't have features I actually dislike, despite lacking several I would like. So least dislikable trim I guess.
What the Escape hybrid guys find, is that Sport Mode puts more in the hybrid battery, and has more regen than other modes. Such that under driving conditions like "fast city" where you can get above 30mph on the arterials, but still have frequent traffic determined slowdowns, you might actually...
Well you can open bottles with the seatbelt buckle, and for some reason they hid the fish descaler in the spare tire well underneath, but I don't think there's a can opener.
Oh, just thunk, late 80s, 90s, and maybe early oughts Chryslers have an automotive grade tilt switch on the hood to turn the underhood lamp on, so snag that from the wreckers and adapt if you don't feel like engineering the whole thing from a thermostat. (I always wondered if it lit up if you...
I am wavering... but only on the "now" vehicle... I am feeling very persnickety about what I want in the "forever" Mav, longtermer, hoping to do a decade plus in it... and that has to be a hybrid, no question. The problem being, I think all the southern Ontario dealers have about run out of...
Hmmm do links to forum hosted images cut and paste okay.... if so this belongs here for reference...

or drag and drop works too I guess...
Yah that's when I'd use it, when I have to stick my leg straight out to get my wallet out my pocket in the drive through.
We've got it on the Escape but haven't been in situations where it's been real useful so far, having to queue, or stop start up a hill for a while may keep your leg muscles...
Looking sharp. Yah I'm wondering if I'm gonna stripe up my future mav like a refugee from the late 70s, early 80s. I think it was that all the small trucks on TV shows all had some "sporty" dressup and the advertisements of the time almost never showed a plain jane. Plus the toy angle.
I...
On a different Ford vehicle, I wasted nearly a week going through Factory Service Manual electrical diagnostic procedures. Though maybe I did the same thing over a few times because I had "the bible" so thought I was doing it the right way. Then it finally dawned on me that the FSM procedures...
It's going on the list... I gotta get up close and personal with that brake pedal though, pics aren't good enough to be quite sure whether it's salt stain, driveway dust, 250,000 miles of wear or "brakes ridden with the left foot all the time."
Hi folks,
So browsing Mavericks for sale all over teh intertubes. and several times come across Mavs claimed to have 4k tow, but vin supplied and see no sign of it on windowsticker, so there's a lot of "noise" out there...
But I came across this one which claims 4K tow but VIN not available...
Yeah well things I plan to do later this year take 5 years to get around to, and I'm still catching up on last summer because it seemed to be raining all the time here. so not betting. But it's probably about 2:1 I get deep and detailed into planning, and 5:1 over 5 years that something gets put...
I typically find that nobody warrantys anything based on possible early failure symptoms, even if 99% certain an indicator. When it blows is when they'll fix it.
But it will be good to know when you're only 500miles inside warranty, so you can go sit on the dealers lot, idling, AC full blast...
When I get my Mav it will be a triple task vehicle. Task 1, my DD for mostly local get-around duties, I mean I could use a smart car for 90% of that. Task 2, camping getaway vehicle, get a camper to tow. Task 3, Winter storm weather step-in for my wife when AWD counts.
So pondering some PHEV...
