Yes. The trick is to see if the oil on the ground is clean or dirty/used. That way you at least know if it was old oil like from the filter change or a leak from the engine or gun. Also, if it is clean from the gun there will likely be lots of it all over around the filler cap likely half ass...
I sincerely doubt it kept running, but even if it did it would shut off and on and won't hurt anything.

there is a harness in the console. the plugs are accessible from the covers on the sides. I remember a few grounds but no plugs under there. there are wire harnesses running down the sides under the door seal trim. I don't remember seeing any modules under the carpet.
