I think you are correct, no way it was the speakers. The speakers very well could be bad now because of all the power put to them. At this rate this will take a long while...........:(

I don't believe I said "minor issue" anywhere. I was pointing out that cooked wires are VERY bad and an exspensive repair.

lots of noise from the speakers is one thing but SMOKE in the cabin is over the top. Something is very wrong. Hopefully it's wasn't a wire harness that cooked and it was just one of the radio components.

I had a coworker at the shop once tell me changing the oil without the filter is like taking a shower and putting dirty underwear back on. ahahaha Many years ago I had a mity max pickup and the book said change the filter every other time. It won't hurt a thing to do this with a quality filter...

Friends don't let friends jump start other cars. There are oh so many electronics hooked to your battery. Get a little jump pack, they work better anyway.

I can watch it go down slowly even in a minute or two. We are likely seeing that low voltage because of the load on the battery right after shutoff. Like lights, dome light, etc... People that get the deep sleep message will probably see much lower because the battery is crap or there is a draw...

I would greatly suspect the battery. Go to Autozone or the like and have them check the charging and battery.

Me too. I see 14.9 on the little meter while "running" and when you shut it off you can watch the voltage drop to what the state of charge is. It will stay on long enough to get an idea. I am seeing about 12.1 after shutdown for about a minute or two. This tells me the battery is not in good...
