Let me fix that for you:
"If you drive it like you stole it, it will behave like a regular truck, and the MPG will still be significantly better than a regular truck."
Driving on the freeway at 77 mph in 8º temps (pretty much a "worst case" situation for the hybrid powertrain's fuel...
The Maverick Hybrid (not a plug-in hybrid) does indeed have an "Electric Booster Heater" to warm the passenger compartment. It operates when the climate system is set to Max Heat, the ambient temps are low (below 12ºC or 53.6ºF), engine coolant temp is low (below 75ºC or 167ºF), the ICE is...
When I get my Cyber Orange Maverick, it will get black letters to go with the BAP.
Guess I'm just weird, but I just don't care for all the "variations" on the US Flag. I served under the "real deal" for too long to appreciate people co-opting it to their cause, whether its the flag with one...
I think it was pretty smart of Ford... The color choices for tailgate letters are very much a personal choice, and my opinion of the "right" color is very much dependent on the color choice. My Area 51 called for black letters. I've seen a couple of Velocity Blue ones that had Chrome letters...
For those who questioned @davnau's statement because literally dozens of web sites show the '23 Corolla as having a 1300kg "braked" trailer towing capacity, here's the "official" answer from the '23 Toyota Corolla Owner's Manual specifically states (pg 152):
"Toyota does not recommend towing a...
And how does one potentially cancel the order with Ford? I've never seen a serious suggestion that this was even possible. As I currenty understand it, "my" order was placed by my dealer, and that order belongs to the dealer, subject to some rules Ford imposes on the dealer for custom-ordered...
Yes, it's a film application, but though it CAN be a DIY project, it's easy to get it wrong, and then you've got a real mess on your hands. Experience is important, and a good shop can do it really quickly - so you think "this is way to easy to pay for it next time"... Don't fall for that -...
MinntoMich, I think using a deep-cycle battery in place of the battery type specified by Ford is not a great idea. There is a BMS (Battery Management System) that is "tuned" to the type of battery Ford specified. That means it knows how much charge the battery can take how quickly, etc...
The best way to tell for sure would be to find a set of scales and weigh each axle independently with the truck empty except for the driver, then reweigh both axles with additional weight in the cab, then reweigh again with weight added up against the tailgate in the back of the bed.
It is...
Yes, I did. But since your post was made well over an hour after I posted, and was the next post immediately following mine, and since you neither referenced the person to whom you were responding, nor quoted that post in your response, I perhaps wrongly assumed you were responding to my post...
Did you even bother to read my post, or just stop after the first sentence? It was all about why I don't believe the minimal gain in efficiency (mpg) is worth the significant increase in cost (91 vs 87 octane).
Ooof! You're a LOT tougher than I am... (Or would be, should I accidentally pee on an electric fence...)
My tolerance for electrical shock is pretty low. Probably stems from two incidents in my childhood:
1) Helping my dad paint a porch, and grabbed hold of an ungrounded wrought-iron lamp...
Well, Ford themselves disagree with your opinion on the color... Those colors are called "Navy Pier" and "Medium Slate" in everything Ford publishes. I've got an Area 51 Hybrid Lariat with the exact same interior, and it is definitely blue. While I would agree that the shade of blue includes...
Yesterday, I picked up 2 bags of river rock, 2 bags of compost, five trellis panels, and a couple of quarts of paint. (That load would have been at least 2 trips in the Prius-C, and would have been very messy inside the car...)
Got home and unloaded all that, then my wife asked me to go back...
There have been a ton of tests comparing mpg with and without covers. The ones I trust most are the one done with multiple trucks and multiple covers.
The consensus of those tests is that a tonneau cover reduces aerodynamic wind resistance by about 5%, which would translate to roughly 2.4%...
Well, here's some data, albeit gathered with a phone app, so the calibration might be suspect...
Using a dB Meter app on my phone, with vehicle turned "ON" in electric mode and stationary, the interior dB level inside the Maverick cab is around 67-70 dB. A good bit of that noise comes from the...
