Good stuff - My trip to the "local" Post office is about a 12 mile round trip, and I get great mileage doing that as well. 35 to 40 mph, only a few stop signs, no traffic lights and little to no traffic. Pretty much ideal hybrid conditions. BTW -Good lookin' dog!

Yep.. Maybe if you had paddle shifters and knew your powerband... With the hybrid you are even more removed from the power transfer, and gear selection is something the bot takes care of...

I missed that, but a tach display isn't an option on the 25MY hybrid I have, as documented in the 25 MY OM, as it gets a power meter instead, noted on page 102. The tach is noted as part of the display on the 25MY EB on the following page 103. I had (incorrectly) assumed that was also the case...

I'd speculate that the other vehicles didn't have the same rubber. Tires are where the rubber meets the road, and in a low traction steep incline situation like you describe the stock tires on the XL are useless, so your issue isn't a surprise.
