My truck 2023 EB model. Now has 8,5xx miles, and will be 3 yo in Oct. Meticulously maintained. In spite 5yrs and 50k miles power train warranty, not is guaranteed, so I’m thinking ofFord extended warranty plan. Had that on my F250, worked well.
Been seeing few owners posting about their new 2026 model. Could use little bit info from 1 or 2 EB engined owners. My query deals with the engine lube oil. My 2023 states to use Ford spec WSS-M2C961-A1 lube oil. Learning of a newer WSS-M2C971-A1 specification.
Question - if you will, kindly...
Sorry to see this. I posted a piece about these rear ended happenstance’s. I was behind a Maverick few weeks ago, and nearly bumped him. What I saw, felt was the narrow distance between rear of cab and tailgate vision gives false distance impression. If one focuses on cab, perception of distance...

Got confirmation from Shell/Quaker State technical staff. The QS 5w-30 lube oil oil is acceptable for my 2023 Maverick 2.0 EB engine.

WSS-M2C961-A1 vs. WSS-M2C971-A1
Can anyone explain difference between the 961 and 971 in WSS #? I seem to recall reading that 971 full synthetic maybe supersede the 961 specs. Not able to find info, again. My 5W-30 oil of choice is full synthetic and says ford approved WSS-M2C971-A1.

Prob why Ford does a sample production run of a few vehicles. After inspecting them for any flaws, scrap them. And if any flaws, make revision in programs, hardware, automation.
My truck 27 months old, with 8,400 miles. In past did trip from Houston to Florida, trips to Louisiana twice. No complaints. Comfy. Fuel economy was great.

Of course doing sampling analysis could ascertain if lube ok...
