I know the feeling, I had over a year to plan projects. I had the wiring mostly done before I had the truck which I only got a few weeks ago. I took a few days off and got almost everything I wanted done, I have another post about it. The truck is worth the wait IMO, love it.
How are you powering the lights now? I'm finding the behavior of the flexbed pigtail maddening, needing the key in ignition, forescan changes didn't help, looking for ideas.
I've seen installs without it and initially wasn't planning on using it but when reading the reviews of the magnetic switch people had them burning out as they're designed for very small loads, probably less than an amp. From what I remember the wires to it were only 24gauge or so. I decided to...
This was my first experience with forescan, I was uncomfortable enough with the plain English changes, wouldn't have been comfortable making them numerically in the table. Thanks again!
I did make a small batch that I'm selling in the marketplace forum, have 2 left right now. I don't think I'll make more after this, hard to find the time and postage rates and PayPal fees make them expensive. It would be nice to see DeeZee just include one in the kit for an extra couple bucks.
I saw those when searching for a ready to go solution, I wouldn't trust the one screw which the ratchet strap would be pulling straight out, at least on the side it would have to shear it. Of course it could be plenty strong and a non issue but I would be paranoid about it. I had considered just...
That looks nice, I like it. Part of the reason I used the chain link is so there wouldn't be sharp edges to catch things, it's so close to the edge of the box though I doubt it would be an issue. I agree it's disappointing Ford didn't think it through and DeeZee should have provided something in...
Took a few days but finished a run of 12 and just posted in the marketplace. Not sure if I'll make more after that, quite a bit of work. Let me know if you'd like to buy one. Otherwise I appreciate all the feedback.
Listing for custom fabricated tailgate tiedowns that work with tailgate assist strut. These are welded from 1/8" mild steel plate and galvanized chain, primed with automotive primer and painted with Rust-Oleum black wheel paint. You can see one attached to my Maverick. These will work with beds...
I think I'll try to make a small run of 5-10 this weekend for those interested, I'm thinking price will be around $55 each shipped, painted black. I'll post when I have some ready.
Just picked up my Maverick Thursday and have been working on it since, mostly projects inspired by this forum. I've seen other bed lighting setups here but none with a magnetic switch connected to a relay, initially I wasn't planning on using a relay until getting the switch. Seeing the thin...
