Tell them to throw a bucket of water over the brakes and then drive it! I will be bringing my Maverick back in. My brakes are more grabby when driving in slushy snow or in the rain.
You're really putting your Maverick to work! I already purchase the Elevate bed racks for my truck with the idea of transporting my 17 foot wood kayak and getting the Yak-Bone Car Top Assist (https://www.boonedoxusa.com/product-page/bdx-yak-bone-car-top-assist) to add the 3rd tie down. I...
Nice pic!! I have pretty much the same setup as you. I haven't put my kayak on my bed rack yet....It's still winter here in MI. How long is your kayak and how stable was it while driving it on the road?
I took my Maverick in to get the brakes fixed on Feb 15. I did noticed it was better but not a 100% better. When driving in the rain or slushy snow, it's noticeable more grabby than usual.
I hope Ford is looking into this issue on why it's more grabby in the rain or slushy snow.
I did take in my Maverick in for TSB and it did improve but not a 100%. What I did notice when I drove it in the rain/slushy snow it grab more than usual even with the fix applied.
Now my 2018 Honda Clarity PHEV was nothing like my Maverick. The Clarity braking was pretty smooth like my...
How heavy is that kayak that's tied down to your bed racks and how far back is it from the back bed racks?
The front tie downs your using for the kayak, are you worried about the the straps rubbing against the hood?
I had my Maverick done about 2 weeks ago. It has improved but not perfect. Driving in the rain / slush today I noticed it was grabbing a bit more than usual. I'm wondering if other people have noticed this when driving in the rain.
I have 3960 miles on my Maverick and decided to change the oil. The oil was the same color as the one in this picture. I didn't really notice smell any gas with the oil.
I'm wondering if Ford added some type of additive to the oil to help break in the engine.
The bed rack rails should give the kayak most of the support. The extended hitch mount is about the same height as the bed rack rails so no issues there.
I have the Elevate bed racks and have the Ford version of the hard roll up cover. The bed rack is at it's lowest setting and it's slightly above the cab....I thought it was slightly below but this pic reminded me how it actually looks.
I plan on betting the Boonedox Yak-Bone Car Top Assist to...
Back there in the garage is where my Maverick spent the night. Ice covered driveway and part of my neighbor tree in my driveway is a good day to work from home....Gotta love MI weather!
Ok, I understand what your saying. I should consider this this to be normal for the Mavierick b/c of the hand off between electric to hydraulic? But it doesn't happen all the time.
I wanna say it's the electric brakes that is making it grab. For example, when I'm coming up to a stop light, applying the brakes coming to a slow stop it doesn't gently stop but grabs to a stop. I"m not applying any more pressure on the brake pedals....I'm holding the brake pedal steady and...
I have the Elevate bed racks and kind of wish I bought something like this to carry my 17 foot kayak! It would be great if Elevate had a kit I could bolt on my racks so it's like a ladder rack like yours! Nice job providing the details!!!
After driving my Maverick to & from work (48 miles round trip) the brakes are better but I wouldn't say it's a 100% better. It still grabs every once in a while when I come to a slow stop. For example when I apply the brakes coming to a slow stop it will grab. It's a lot better than before but...
