I am contemplating the same thing. I checked around and there are lots of shops doing powder coating somewhat nearby. One will remove the wheels and tires, powder coat them and put the tires and wheels back on the truck for $500. I like the look of semi gloss black.
I am following this and it has merged with the idea I had of using the truck as a generator maybe even a backup generator for the house. Certainly I would like to run power tools from the inverter and 300 watts is hardly enough.
There is a company called Plug-Out that provides a solar panel...
This looks like another item for my pile of accessories for my yet to be delivered Maverick. I always threatened to put them on a new vehicle but never have.
I agree the website is does not explain the products very well and there are a lot of them. There are few visual cues just the model number. The $250 model does not have auto tuning. Some do not have bluetooth, and some are not amplifiers at all.
I saw 4 different powered subwoofers and a...
I feel your pain. My Subaru's engine gave out before the Maverick arrived. After consulting with the dealer, looking on the used car market and begging family members to share their car I bit the bullet and repaired my car at a cost of 3k. Good luck.
Ford has put us in a tough situation. I...
I am working on my own budget stereo build. Nakamichi components are cheap right now. I don't want to mess with the head unit.
I intend to start with a DSP amplifier NDSK4085A. It is being sold all over for around $250. For those who do not know, a digital signal processor takes the signal from...
Another option I am looking at is all the digital sound processor amplifiers. I am looking at the Nakamichi. It is controlled by a Bluetooth app and allows the shaping of the signal to each individual speaker at $265. The slimline Nakamichi speakers are also a deal. There is not much room for...
I've been waiting since June. My Subaru blew a head gasket over Christmas. My first inclination was to see what else was available, rather than spend a month rebuilding the engine. The dealer was no help, used cars are too expensive. Found a good mechanic and put a new engine in the Subaru...
While waiting for my Mav, it has been on order since July, my Forester blew a head gasket. $3500 in repairs. Only 125k mi on the Forester. This Forester is now the most expensive vehicle I have ever driven. I hope the Mav's hybrid drivetrain is longer lived.
Squirrels got the fuel lines on our Honda. Supposedly, it is because they used some nut oil to put it together. The repair was over 1k since they had to take out the gas tank. The real insult is that my wife insisted that she get her space back in the garage where I had expanded the wood shop.
