Plug in hybrids are a different animal. To be usable it would have to be much larger (5x-50x) and require all the charging electronics. Plus the Maverick is not designed to operate efficiently in all-electric mode (too small of an electric motor).
Read the PHEV wikipedia article. All the...
If anyone is listening I'd like to see if and where there are tapped holes under the weather stripping on the cab roof. Roof rails are going to be a hot seller for this platform.
I'm not off topic. Smaller hybrid cars and trucks are sound solution for most folks transportation needs. Perhaps the best solution for today. That is why the Maverick was designed. That is why it is a great choice. If I trade my Subaru in for a Maverick my personal carbon footprint for driving...
Hybrid, not EV. Electric vehicles support the electric utilities. In my area, 40 pounds of coal are burnt to fill the tank of a Tesla and it doesn't even save you money. 40 mpg, good for the environment, good for the pocket.
I looked at the owners manual and the Maverick has a whole slew of drive modes shown.
Sport, eco, tow, slippery, hill descent and a couple of others. My Honda accord hybrid has the same thing and feel like the hybrid delivers lots of power when I need it most.
The Yakima overhaul is going to fit I think. If someone can verify it when the opportunity arrives I'd appreciate it. It is way expensive but the concept is there.

I am working on it. A cross bar on the Cab roof and a removable one at the back of the bed. It should be easy to load from the ground unlike the f150. It also needs a tube for pipe and fishing poles.
I'm looking for the same thing. I saw a Tacoma where the crossbars clamped to the c channel under the rail and just rested on top of the bed rails. I'm imagining a quick release crossbar mated with one on the cab roof. The rear one has to be removable for a variety of reasons as you mentioned...
I checked out a Jeep Compass today which had some low profile rails. It did not look too secure. The Volvo seemed secure but the formed aluminum is never something that is going to be available aftermarket. I'm just dreaming. The latest photos showed just how low the roof really is and how...
I have seen those and they are an option. Van owners use them frequently and there are all kinds of rack attachments that can be used with them. I just liked the sleek sealed look of the Volvo. I also am concerned about wind noise and removability. The Thule rack I have on my Subaru is certainly...
I want the same rails for the cab roof and put a removable crossbar up there. The Maverick has such a low roof height (68"+/-) that loading it would be easier than on bigger trucks.
I was looking at a Volvo today and they have these very low profile rails that I hope someone makes for the...
It seems that this is a true 3rd generation drivetrain with all the bugs worked out. The details I worry about and many I don't know about seem to have all been dealt with. This vehicle is far from a raw or stripped down implementation of a new technology.
I do not see where the Maverick Hybrid is getting any kind of traction control or ABS brakes. I am wondering how this vehicle will handle on slippery surfaces. As I got stuck once again with my F150 and had to switch to 4-wheel mode I realized the vehicle has an open differential and no TCS. I...
