  1. Let’s try to fix this major hybrid issue together

Yeah, if they pulled the engine and transmission, they would have to refill the coolant system - at least that side of it... The battery / exhaust side should have remained intact and not needed refilling. Not surprising they could not charge the HVB to 100%... It's not meant to be charged...
  2. What's your Maverick towing?❓Show & Tell

Sweet! I had a '68 MG B in blue metal flake with the original wire wheels w/ knockoffs. It was gorgeous. I was a fool to sell it, but in fairness I was only 19 and there was a redhead involved... Wish I still had it! I also had a '66 Astin Healey Sprite (Midget clone) in British Racing...
  3. Spray vs Drop-In Bedliner?

I don't like drop-in bed liners because of the long-term potential for road noise - squeaking, etc. - which would drive me crazy! When my son was in high-school, he bought a well-used Ram 1500 with a DIBL a couple of decades ago. The DIBL was moving around and causing all kinds of squeaking...
  4. Interior door handles awkward to grab

It amazes me what people will find to complain about... And yes, the post with "artwork" was priceless... Great example of a picture being worth 1,000 words.
  5. What did you drive before the Maverick?

As a kid growing up in Brazil, the 914 was THE hot car that was actually available for sale. I developed a life-long lust for one of them, but as of yet have not "consummated" a deal... Almost bought a reddish-orange one a few years back, but the engine turned out to be in pretty bad shape...
  6. Great video walkthrough of Hybrid Maverick controls, settings and gauges

I couldn't agree more... It is embarrassing in this day and age that we (US) are raising yet another generation that is clueless about the metric system used basically everywhere else in the world. When I was in grade school, we were preparing to switch to the metric system, then ... crickets...
  7. OXFORD WHITE Maverick Photos Thread

The only thing I don't like on that build is the "shade" across the front window... Everything else is really sweet. This coming from a guy who ordered his Maverick in Cyber Orange with Black Appearance Pkg. But I also like white trucks that don't look like fleet service vehicles - and this...
  8. After one year of ownership ... love it more today after 17K miles

When I ordered my Maverick, I did not order the moonroof because I've never seen one that didn't significantly reduce the headroom inside the truck. But, to my surprise, the moonroof that came on the First Edition Maverick Hybrid that I bought is actually far less intrusive than I expected. I...
  9. Been expecting this lol

Oh, how I'd love to be able to complain that my scheduled build date was being moved around... LOL
  10. Been expecting this lol

Ordered? Yes. Actually scheduled for production? Probably not. But why be so negative? At some point, all Maverick orders were "Unscheduled - Clean"...
  11. .

You, sir, are a braver man than I am! Either that, or the traffic in your area is less crazy than it is around here... If you've driven your Maverick in the mountains, how did ACC / Lane Centering handle the curvy mountain roads? I'm headed that way sometime this fall (I hope!) and just...
  12. What Made You Choose Your Car?

When I retired, my wife and I decided I should replace my old car. We planned to be driving a lot of medium-range trips, and wanted something more comfortable. I looked around, and really couldn't find anything I liked. Went to several dealerships and sat in a bunch of cars - none of them...
  13. Delivered after 16 months and 10 days

Wow! Sounds like a great dealer! Hope things go well for your wife.
  14. Delivered after 16 months and 10 days

Well, if you REALLY want to be in the 500 club, I bet your dealer would hold it for you for one more day... LOL But seriously, congratulations on your new truck. It looks stunning in Atlas Blue. I like that blue a lot better than theVelocity Blue it replaces.
  15. What is nav speed limit based on?

My wife's Impala gets the info from the map data - I know because a map data update corrected a speed limit where the rural road used to be 55 mph, but changed to 40 mph when they built a subdivision. Prior to the data update, the gps map always reported the speed limit as 55 mph. After the...
  16. What's your Maverick hauling in the bed? [Photos Edition]

I'm pretty sure that braking shifts the weight forward, thus reducing the load on the tailgate. I think he will be OK as long as the tie down points also support the weight of the bike. Use multiple tie downs to multiple points to distribute the load as much as possible.
  17. Best accessories you've added to your Maverick?

Excellent point! I had forgotten that when I still had the Chevy 2500 HD truck, my 89-year-old mom rode with me fairly regularly. I had running a tubular 'step' on that truck, but still needed to bring along a stepstool (3-step) so Mom could get it and out... She was also only 5' tall, so...
  18. If they made a full EV Maverick, would you buy, switch? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS]

I'm curious as to why you dislike hybrids. Have you owned one, or even driven one for more than just a quick test drive? I'm curious about your reasons, because I also thought I would absolutely hate driving a hybrid vehicle... Then I got one of those "offers you just can't refuse" - an...
  19. If they made a full EV Maverick, would you buy, switch? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS]

It sounds stupid, but using one hand on the wheel, so that you're pulling down ever-so-slightly all the time, seems to keep the Lane Centering nanny happy... Also, the Yeti drink bottle that Ford gives out "for your patience" in waiting for the air bag recall parts to get the recall done sits...
  20. Best accessories you've added to your Maverick?

If you're adding running boards just for looks, I get it. A lot of people just like the looks of running boards on a truck - kind of like lifting / lowering their Maverick... But the Maverick cabin is low enough that stepping in is really easy - even for my grandkids. I just don't see much...
