I've had zero issues with my Hybrid Lariat since the airbag recall was done. And mine was likely one of the very first Mavericks to have this recall work completed, since it was done before it could be sold to me. It was a while after I had mine that I first started seeing posts about the...
I've had zero issues with disconnecting, or with sound from the one I purchased. (I have had a few Sync 3 "freeze" or "restart" issues, but that was independent of the Car Play adapter, and they seem to have gone away following the most recent Sync 3 software update.) I just unboxed the...
All of a sudden, my Maverick Hybrid feels Super-Quick!
My wife's dad had a late 70's Datsun pickup with standard cab. That was the car he let her drive after she got her license. Heck, I even got to drive it once - to go pick up my motorcycle after some repairs were made. Seats could not...
And my brother who bought a 2020 Tacoma, only to have it spend 5 months in the shop (various issued) swears he will never buy another Toyota (and neither should you, apparently). He currently has a Honda Ridgeline that spent 3 months of its first year of life in the shop during the pandemic. I...
Neither was mine, but in the family...
1942 Plymouth Sedan in "Robin's Egg Blue" that my dad was so proud to own as his "daily driver." (This was in 1968, by the way.) It had manual wipers and a 6" hole in the floorboard precisely positioned so that the passenger would get severely wet if he...
Would you mind sharing why you're glad the Tesla is gone? Feel free to PM me if you'd prefer not to dilute the forum thread...
Also, nice looking Maverick!
There are times when the vehicle itself disables the auto start/stop (well, mostly the "stop" part...). Here's what it says on Pg 170 of the owner's manual:
The system restarts the engine if:
You switch the heated windshield on.
You switch maximum defrost on.
Your vehicle starts to roll...
Well, I thought the picture with A & B options was an attempt to be funny, but when everyone piled on, it got kinda out of hand, especially when it descended into name calling. I hope the OP got something besides grief from the discussion.
Thanks, @surfstar. That was helpful. I do basically the same analysis (my wife thinks I'm nuts to spreadsheet everything). We paid off our 5% mortgage before we retired, and the cars have been purchases with cash (all pre-date the super-low interest rate loans). Now it looks like we might...
There's an even cheaper alternative on Amazon, if price is your only consideration: IAQWE Truck Tailgate Assist Struts at only $20.99. It does have slightly higher ratings (a whopping 2.5 stars) than the MADAT unit, but only four reviewers. I suspect the 5-star review was from the seller...
To the OP: I have a friend with MS, and he has difficulty grasping straight, flat objects. He finds "loops" a lot easier to grab and hold onto... If a that might be easier for you as well, you might consider fabricating a leather loop (or similar material of your choice), and attaching it...
Truly asking out of curiosity: Do you also factor in the time value of money to your purchase price? In other words, if you paid $25K (cash) for your car, would you consider the cost of the car to be the amount of money that $25K would have earned you if left in the mutual fund?
I'm really...
I was definitely chuckling as I read this... Sounds like "Top" forgot rule #1 of Army "camping" - always check the area before unrolling your sleeping bag. This was equally applicable in Vietnam, Korea, and the various desert playgrounds the Army likes to "camp" in... Cactus, rattlesnakes...
Brent, it's possible that the first truck you sat in had the seat bottom raised to the highest position... The Maverick has a LOT of adjustment in that regard.
Use the menu control on the Lariat steering wheel, and select the "Select Screens" option. There are a bunch of choices you can select. See page 117 in the manual...
