Gave it a go on that version tonight, still no dice and same error. It's not urgent so I'll probably wait a bit for a few more updates to come out before I re-attack.
Reviving this thread now that I got my Maverick. I just measured between the arrows on the pinch welds, 72". JUrban mentioned a few posts back it was 59", but I don't see any other lift point arrows than the 2 I found which are 72" apart.
Not even close to fitting any of the common QuickJacks...
I installed FORScan 2.3.45 release tonight and hooked up to the Maverick with the OBDLinkEX cable. Connected fine, read the modules and went into the BdyCM. Found the front bulb turn outage and tried to disable it then write. Stops at 42% and says "Service procedure has been interrupted". I...
I wasn't a fan of the red in the FX4 logo on my truck so I heated them up a bit with a heat gun and they peeled right off. Seems like it was for the best.
I hand wash with the OG 2 bucket + pressure washer though so they would have lasted anyway. Although winter washing does suck, just did a...
I don't think any of these Chinese devices come with much in the way of support.
You just plug it into your USB. Truck screen should auto switch to CarPlay source after 15-30 seconds or so as the dongle boots up. It will show a screen with a name like Sync-#### and just look for that name on...
Thought I'd post an update on the wireless carplay dongle experience I've had so far. The carlinkit 3.0 I got must be a dud. It disconnects and reboots all the time on its own and won't even boot when really cold out (sub freezing).
This lead me to try another dongle which is the ottocost...
1) No dealer sticker. (Asked not to, but said they don’t anyway.)
2) No front plate bracket. (Again requested to not have it and was told they don’t install them anymore.)
3) It’s been about 3 weeks now and I’m at 750 miles. So far it’s great. Never owned a truck and mostly had sports cars...
I had a JB4 on a BMW 335 once, it was definitely faster with a huge increase in hp/tq. My issue was the power delivery wasn't very smooth. Sold it and went with a flash tune instead. The flash tune was much smoother and a more OEM like experience, but with all the same if not more of an increase...
So, I've had my carlinkit 3.0 for a few weeks now and the reliability of it has taken a real turn for the worse. Now that it's below freezing the past few days it won't even boot until it "warms up" it seems. I can be halfway home then it randomly starts booting up finally. Also, it reboots...
I installed mine mostly for the homelink, but the auto-dimming is a nice extra benefit. Couldn't care less about the compass though. I've had auto-dimming mirrors for years in my tinted cars and it's definitely dark at night when someone is behind you. I can't see anything other than the...
Be it the person or the device itself, haha. I used a measuring tape starting at the 1" mark rather than the end trying to be at least a little bit precise. Still not as good as using calipers.
Hope you all don't mind associate links as I wouldn't mind a few bucks to help cover some broken clips from my install. I'll try to put together a proper DIY with pictures tonight.
Mirror: Gentex Frameless Auto-Dimming Mirror with Homelink and Compass
Fuse tap: Fuse-TAP with fuses included
*As...
I did. It’s a frameless gentex auto dim with homelink and compass. Was pretty simple. I really wanted homelink which is why I got it. Used a fuse tap and there was even a slot listed for “auto dim mirror”.
DIY: unscrew the mirror set screw. Pull mirror up and it should slide off. Remove plastic...
I measured 5-7/8” center to center and 1/2” post size. Pic included for the “4 way” in action. It just tilts down a few clicks then the last click resets it back straight up. Not as fancy as some luxury car ones where the whole head rest moves forward rather than tilting forward.
I had a rattle at the back of my moonroof. Smacked the head liner a few times over the course of a few days and it no longer rattles anymore. Must have seated a clip.
The storage bins also rattle a bit with the B&O sub on some bass heavy techno. I added sound dampening and foam under them and...
I was just about to order one to compare to my carlinkit while it’s still under the return policy. Guess I’ll let you be the test mule instead, haha.
That’s why I mentioned lariat lux. The sync 3 is a bit different than the head unit used on the xl and xlt. Others have mentioned the sync 3 in the lariat lux seems to be more compatible with these adapters.
Good point. I usually bought the nicer ones for my BMWs because it’s not usually worth the risk or trouble of bricking a module. I’ll order the $50 one forscan recommends.
I wouldn’t be worried as long as you have the signed buyers order showing the price break down. They seemed to be a decent dealership even though I’ve read and heard less than stellar things about them.
