Or perhaps the OP is NOT aware that thread titles can be changed after the fact? Given the demographics of this group, I'd opt for giving him the benefit of the doubt. @IGNIGNKXT, you CAN change the thread title to reflect that the call came from the dealership, not Ford Motor Company.
I can almost hear (and definitely still feel) the prolonged "Thwack" sound as my short pants clad legs came "unstuck" from those damn plastic covers after sitting on them for more than 5 seconds! (Shudder)
Yeah, your old "slow" motorcycle is a lot like my old "slow" Piper Cub airplane... It doesn't fly very fast or very far - just enough to kill you if you aren't careful!
I quit riding motorcycles when I finally realized that it would likely not be MY speed that would kill me, but the speed of...
It is fairly clear that Ford (like almost every other manufacturer) is underrating the capacity, and using the smaller capacity for the "miles to empty" calculation, in order to avoid complaints / lawsuits caused by people running out of fuel.
The '22 Maverick owners manual says it this way...
The primary difference is that automobile dealerships (and their auto dealer associations) are THE single largest donors to state and local governments, which pass "protectionist" laws forcing the manufacturers to ONLY sell through dealers. In Texas, for instance, auto dealer associations and...
Kind of what I was thinking... If someone is going to commit a felony (and I think gas costs enough these days that it probably meets the felony threshold), something like a locking cap isn't going to deter them. They can cut a fuel line or punch a hole in the tank as easy as prying the lock...
You guys let your wife / kids borrow your truck? What were you thinking? The blue bar will punish you for that!
But it's interesting here in the Austin area... Most of the time I can do back roads or surface streets, and it only changes my estimated arrival time by a few minutes...
I tend to use "slippery" mode most of the time - just tap the button 3 times immediately after starting the engine. But when using Adaptive Cruise Control, if feels to me like the ACC is not calibrated properly to work well with "slippery" mode's reduced regenerative braking. It seems to delay...
I'm with JBryant on this one. Those accusing Maverick owners who sell their vehicles for MSRP++ of being scumbags (or worse) are big-time hypocrites. I'm willing to bet that if they were putting their house on the market, one of the FIRST steps they would take is to determine the current...
Irrelevant? Hmmm... I'd be willing to bet that pretty much 100% of the US Maverick orders that get delivered for the 2023 model year will turn out to have been ordered in the first four days of the order window being open... I'm confident making that assertion, since Ford stopped taking...
All I can say is that you got a heck of a nice truck, whether Hybrid or Ecoboost. It's the "just right" size for everything I want to do. I test drove an Ecoboost, and almost bought it on the spot - it was THAT fun to drive. But I knew my wallet couldn't take the hit from the speeding tickets...
And that would also be a mistake, considering that lots of gas stations have E85 and 85-octane gasoline as their "cheapest fuel available". Both the hybrid and ecoboost call for 87 octane minimum, and E-85 is severely frowned upon..
It's fine for the turbo guys to "blow" their money on...
Yeah, I agree that a minivan is hard to beat for large(ish) families... We had one for years. Just so damn practical, and the driving dynamics aren't all that bad, either. My daughter has a Honda Odyssey that we call the "Battlestar"... My pre-school grandson loves to sit way in the back...
Well, I finally am "official" with my first tank of gas that did NOT include at least some portion of a 600-mile trip at 75 mph... This was just before resetting Trip1 after refueling. It took just over 14 gallons to fill, so the actual mpg average was more like 43.9 mpg. I probably could...
Yep, two of my 3 grandkids have the mifold boosters, and they are amazing! I can't wait until the youngest is old enough to use one. His car seat is a real PITA!
My wife and I got used to parking the behemoth C2500HD waaaay out in the parking lot because it was so non-maneuverable (and so long it took about 1 1/4 parking spaces. We got used to the extra walking, so we just kept doing it when we got the Maverick... But yeah, my kids and grandkids all...
