I think some profit is ok obviously they have to make money. And MSRP is above what they pay Invoice. So $1-2K above MSRP seems reasonable to me, but when the price of an XL goes to the price of an XLT and even a Lariat in this case, that is price gouging. The customer will never sell that...
It's not just Long McArthur, but I care if the markup is that ridiculous. That is the same price I will pay for my Lariat Luxury Package Maverick if I ever get it, which at this point is probably not going to happen.
There is a link in that article pertaining to a Mustang Mach-E with a $10k markup on a dealer lot that the CEO put the kibash on as well. Granted another EV, but still seems like he definitely doesn't like the practice.
Not sure if it is a restriction but if the CEO of Ford doesn't like it, I think dealers need to pay attention. https://www.thedrive.com/news/44172/ford-boss-puts-the-kibosh-on-unreasonable-dealer-markups
Ok, maybe I mis-read that. I knew it was definitely not allowed on customer ordered vehicles to raise the price at all, but thought there was still something on lot vehicles above MSRP a certain percentage.
But it seems he was told around $21k, then when it arrived it went to 30k. I would have been pissed too especially if I had driven all the way there and there was suddenly a $7500 markup. Nissan did something similar to me. I called about a truck, put a down payment on it at MSRP. Get there and...
Wasn't there a post somewhere that mentioned any dealership charging a certain amount over MSRP would be flagged and not be allowed any more allocations. I am not sure if it was 10% or $10k over. But definitely not a good look.
This guy posted a video talking about Long McArthur and even mentions @fordvideoguy. I know alot of people have thought he was a good source of information and granted I am not sure Phillip (the customer) actually talked to him, or just saw his videos and went to Long McArthur because of it...
Glad you were able to find one in the wild. I have been looking but dealers around here are asking 5-10k above MSRP. I just can't justify paying the same price for an Eco-Boost XL that I will pay for the Hybrid Lariat Lux truck I ordered.
Same here on communication. I got emails from the dealer so they have my correct info, but never got any confirmation from Ford. I am scared I could get a build date, it could be delivered to the dealer. They never contact me and assume I don't want it and sell it. Does that seem possible?
Looks like no one has posted here since December. How many of you are still waiting? It looks like I will be able to join your club in a few weeks and I am a Aug 26 order. It feels like it has been much longer, maybe because the dealer told me I would get a Nov-Dec build date :)
After reading this it makes me wonder how many people order multiple vehicles and were able to get them before someone even gets one. Not knocking you or anyone that ordered multiples, just shows how screwed up the Ford ordering system is. Why isn’t it first come first served? Why are their...
MSRP was $32,890 on the SV Frontier. I didn't get the leather, heated seats and co-pilot 360, but pretty much everything else I wanted. I did pay closer to $38k after taxes, tag, etc. Definitely not what I wanted. I wanted the Hybrid Maverick with 42mpg, which fits more with the use I would...
