So it is possibly an XL and XLT issue, trucks that don't have the Lariat package and/or push button start? Perhaps it is part of an upgraded package that those trucks don't come equipped with to sense the keys are in the truck. Do they even come with a key fob?

I agree. There should be a sensor in the key so it knows the keys are in the car, or at the very least a sensor that wouldn't allow the doors to lock automatically if the keys are in the ignition.

I will miss my 4-wheel drive. I wish the hybrid had an AWD option. Other than that I will be gaining 20+ mpg, heated seats and mirrors, blind spot monitoring, lane assist, sirius radio, car play, adaptive cruise control, and a truck bed and probably a lot more things I am forgetting.
