" the Maverick’s front-end is sporting a stupid shit-eating grin."
That's from being able to fit into normal sized parking spots.
"Also, the Maverick Hybrid has a cute backup beeper."
Hopefully the people in the garage where I'll be parking mine won't hear it too much because it's easier to...
They are great work trucks for people who aren't hauling 2x4s and ten foot sheets of drywall. Those guys need a full sized truck.
I'll be putting my Maverick to use as a work truck for hauling supplies when I get it.
Yeah, but think of how easy it would have been to find parking. Just get one...
I got this text today.
Looks like they think they have people who will pay more than $5K in order to buy a Maverick when it's first available.
If they can get it, more power to them.
And no, I'm not interested in doing it at all.
Edited to add: it's from the actual dealer but...
This is the downside of a crew cab. If it was just an extended cab, they could have put a much bigger vault in there and you better believe I'd happily store my tools in it. They're in this right now and it's sitting in my office. If only I could put them in the truck.
My Maverick is replacing a 31 year old Silverado with AC that doesn't work, power steering that doesn't give much of a boost at low speeds, and windows that I sometimes have to roll down all the way and back up in order to get it to work.
So yeah, you're damn right it'll meet my needs. It's a...
Caveat emptor. You're spending tens of thousands on this truck. Make sure you know what you're doing before your buy is entered into the system.
Does the dealership or employee screw up? Absolutely. It's still on you to make sure you're getting exactly what you want.
You don't NEED a bed liner. Your truck will get scratches and dings in the paint even if you don't haul any objects with sharp edges. Still, it's not needed.
A bed liner will help prevent rust from those scratches and dings. Now, if you live in a semi-desert environment and you park your truck...
I'm not paying a penny over MSRP. If they say well, that wasn't a firm order, I'll complain to Ford and the local media (and because of my business I know reporters at every single TV station and the main newspaper). And then if the dealer comes crawling back because of the bad publicity, I'll...
I see that the spray in bed liner is still constrained. Guess what I'm not doing?
I'm going to have this truck for decades and if you think I'm exaggerating, consider that I'm driving around a 31 year old truck right now.
I can wait.
Looking on the bright side, if things are delayed until...
And my suggestion is to not buy them at all. Because then, you save the maximum amount of money.
I had my previous Mustang for 18 years. I never had to pay more than a grand in repairs on it. I plan on keeping this one for the same amount of time. It's now six years old and I've had to pay a...
We've got people buying things they don't need and can't afford on credit cards and paying the high interest rates associated with that. It makes a lot of money for JPMorgan and Citi but the person paying that interest is getting screwed, right?
Same thing with extended warranties. You'll pay...
Here's my question for you: if it was such a good deal, then how would they make any money on it? And if they're making money on it, then does it make any sense for you?
When it's time for me to get the truck, if they ask me to purchase one and tell me I could be protected against costly...
Okay, now I'm confused. Are you telling me that if I got an email like this from Ford I still need to talk to my dealer to get him to do something else? Or do I just wait until January or February and go get my truck?
CARB should want to expedite getting it done. There will be a lot of fleet orders and when you can replace a 10-15 year old Ranger which gets 17 MPG combined with a Maverick that gets 37 combined that takes a lot of emissions out of the air.
I think a lot of it has to do with why people are buying the truck. Ford anticipates a significant number of fleet sales. You have to ask yourself whether the people who buy them for fleets are going to pay for the additional horsepower the Ecoboost provides.
I'm a business buyer and it makes...
