  1. Deer collision damage results in $6k repair. Insurance lessons learned

Although I've read there is little evidence the whistles work, I suppose for 5 bucks it couldn't hurt! On my list. Timely discussion about deer populations, as Michigan DNR is currently recruiting members for one task force per peninsula to evaluate overall deer population issues.
  2. Deer collision damage results in $6k repair. Insurance lessons learned

Wow! I do feel better now. Probably could've fit three or so of the one I hit into that 12-point. LOL
  3. Deer collision damage results in $6k repair. Insurance lessons learned

^ Somehow it seems to me that one should've been more expensive!
  4. Deer collision damage results in $6k repair. Insurance lessons learned

Funny thing is that deer harvest was WAY down in this area this past season (and it really hasn't been that great to begin with!).
  5. Deer collision damage results in $6k repair. Insurance lessons learned

It fascinates me how much smarter crows are than deer. Turkeys, too.
  6. Deer collision damage results in $6k repair. Insurance lessons learned

I had a night collision with a fairly small deer a little before Christmas (a rude gift). I saw it suddenly coming onto the road; slammed the brakes but was not able to slow down enough to avoid it. The road was not obviously icy, but I think I did skid a bit. It hit squarely in the front...
  7. Spotted another Maverick towing a scamp trailer camper

22-24 mpg with a Scamp, wow. Pains me a bit to pull my full-height at 14 mpg max. Then again, the gas savings probably does not make up for the fact the Scamp would've taken over a year to get and cost nearly twice as much $ 😅 Cool to see, though!
  8. Got these bad boys Mabet side marker lights today

Is there an update thread anywhere on in-stock status? I haven't followed this product at all since it was in the pre-production stage, and now I am interested!
  9. Door Sill Recommendations

Pretty much the same for me - cheap and effective.
  10. 2025 Maverick refresh and other rumors (from display manager at auto show)

I remedied the lack of need for a backseat somewhat by removing the backseat (well, the bottom part) and putting in a plywood floor. I wish those bins with frame pieces weren't in the way, though. :( Definitely would consider an extended or standard cab version if one is released and has a...
  11. Are our headlights so bright that people are flashing us? I own a 2023 XL hybrid

Wasn’t saying brights aren’t a problem; just that I don’t notice the number of bulbs/lamps that produce the brightness. Maybe others do.
  12. Are our headlights so bright that people are flashing us? I own a 2023 XL hybrid

Well maybe, but I can't say I've ever flashed another vehicle because I counted four headlight beams rather than two!
  13. Sad Maverick Owner. So mad at Ford...

Crappy situation. At least it has gotten me thinking in advance about how to handle a similar situation if I ever encounter it!
  14. Noisy engine in cold temperature start

I forgot to update that the dealer said my throttle body is "stuck" (or was); it was probably associated with the cold, and they'll replace it under warranty because of the stored codes, even though it currently is functioning properly. I am waiting on the part to arrive.
  15. 4K Tow Package and Brake Controller

I have the 4K, but even with a hybrid I personally wouldn't worry about this trailer solely due to frontal area limit. I suppose I'm a bit biased since I am surely exceeding that metric with my current trailer. But it's a pretty loose guideline and probably more of a concern if you're really...
  16. Noisy engine in cold temperature start

I'm surprised there haven't been any more responses to this; anyway, in my case, another start in similar temps yesterday resulted in normal idling, but I am getting it checked out at the dealer on Monday anyway (without clearing codes). Will report back.
  17. No HVAC for Fordpass remote start?

Of course the screenshot was from the app; I just meant a 15-min reference to the fob remote start in the owner's manual didn't necessarily mean such an option existed on the app.
  18. No HVAC for Fordpass remote start?

Mine is, or was, 15 min by default with the app. I haven't noticed if it's changed. The fob remote start could have a different setting from the app, though.
