Maybe mine is just so much slower to warm up while idling than while driving that I think the HVAC is turned off after a FP RS. Still, if the system is on, it's strange that all climate control lights would be off!
So you're saying there is a brand name product to neutralize salt? Interesting...
I always use the undercarriage wash, since its only a dollar or two extra usually, but I have always assumed a little spray of water won't accomplish much when I only get a wash once every 2-4 weeks or so.
I...
Yep. Same issue (right down to the remote start [5-10 min]) and same code for me a little over an hour ago. It sounded like a snow blower with the throttle turned really low, which makes sense given the code.
Also got a related code P2119, "throttle actuator control throttle body...
Mine sit above the hood line when turned on and resting in the downward position, but they retract farther down when turned completely off. Even seemingly minor snow/ice buildup can also prevent them from fully retracting.
On one of my previous vehicles it was possible to remove and re-seat the...
Seems like a bad idea. You can always push the envelope, but do you really want to do it regularly?
Does the non-4K have the integrated brake controller? If not, electric brake capability would be critical.
It's comical to me that the Lariat does not come standard with heated seats. (Mine doesn't have them, and I only have a Lariat because that's what I happened on to.) Got a 12-volt heated seat pad that actually works okay, but guess what - the 12V accessory outlet doesn't turn on with FP remote...
Yeah, that's my point... I meant "the reason for this apparently flawed functionality." I don't think the theory translates to reality, though. As for AC, I don't care - barely hot enough for that here!
I tell myself the reason for this is because there's no point in having the heat turned on before the engine is warmed up. And I usually only start the truck a max of five minutes before going out to it, if at all.
For me, the remote start does turn the blower on, but it doesn't seem to apply...
Another option is to leave the wipers down and use the spray-on deicer after you park - but I always forget to do it when the overnight or next-day precip would call for it!
Yeah, this design is not all that uncommon, but I don't think the engineers prioritize the preferences of those of us in northern climes!
I have found it's most effective (and less hazardous to the hardware) to just dig the snow out from under there by hand instead of trying to use a brush, and...
Happens to me occasionally. This has the best and brightest low beams of any vehicle I've owned, as far as forward illumination goes. But side illumination for curves and turns leaves something to be desired, and the brights leave even more to be desired. The brights do not throw nearly as far...
The scratches bothered me a little at first, but I didn't really buy the Mav for its interior beauty, and now I barely notice. "It's a truck," after all ;)
Actually they do like the Maverick, other than, apparently, its markup.
I reported the error on their website.
I find CR useful enough to subscribe to, but often their model recommendations are wildly misaligned with their ratings and road test results for the same model. I don't understand...
No problem here yet, though I don't use car washes often, let along those with the rubber flappers (hurts me even to think about "brushes"). My soft tonneau is kind of junk, too, so it's a good test subject. Haha
The +/- buttons on the controller don't bring up the gain on the screen either? Is the trailer connected when you are doing this? Pretty sure it needs to be and there's no other way to see the set gain.
