A turbo engines back pressure is only needed pre-turbine wheel to make the turbo responsive, after the turbo you want 0 back pressure.
A 3" exhaust isn't too large, the factory exhaust is 2-3/8" with crappy restrictive mufflers. 3" will allow someone to buy one exhaust regardless of power...
I've bought two of my last trucks at Sarchione in Alliance, GREAT people to deal with! I got it from Ameedio.
Yes, foot to the floor, throttle is closing. This started after the exhaust which means the stock exhaust was really restrictive, which was obvious. Yes, it's a torque limiting...
Link to Youtube for the video because so many people weren't able to see videos I've been posting.
The truck is now equipped with our 3" intake, oil catch can and 3" catback.
Myself and the employees here have been driving the truck everyday. I love this thing. Really happy with the sound...
Both our catch can and our intake are easy to install, intake is SUPER easy. The catch can the only hard part is releasing the factory clips that hold the hoses to the intake and valve cover. We are going to do a short video on that as soon as we get a minute.
You can order from our...
Changing to our 3" intake is an incredible difference in sound, even better than the exhaust. The intake opens up all the turbo/BOV noise, even more so than on my 3.5 F150.
The primary reason for me, from a performance shop, is the intercooler being ruined, the decrease in contaminants in the combustion chamber is second and the build up of gunk is third.
To be honest, I wouldn't waste my money doing it on a hybrid.
It's impossible to build something to make everyone happy. I like the exhaust being hidden and up higher for ground clearance. While we can build anything custom here I have to look at the largest market to hit and I think that's what we've done.
No sir, it snowed. I wish it had! Even with the ECU restricting the improvements from the exhaust the power is up substantially. They really have these engines corked up.
Brian's answer is correct, the oil in the catch can would have been used/burnt/accumulated in the intercooler pipes/intercooler. So there is no extra oil usage, the oil consumption won't change.
The exhaust, like Borla's and Magnaflow's will require cutting the stock cat back behind the second cat to install it. We will make the system so it can be used later with our 3" downpipe.
We will be doing a down pipe but the intercooler is next on our list.
Thanks too!
Buschur's here! Making parts for the truck already, in house dyno and we will be offering tuning soon.
3" intakes, oil catch cans and 3" catback done so far. Intercoolers are next.
Thank you. I saw the question but it was confusing, I wasn't aware they make paper cone filters. I'd suggest a oiled outer sleeve for the filter we are using, rather than swapping it out, like dirt bikes and such use. The filter is a K&N 0930.
