This vehicle had two things going for it mpg and price. Ford has priced these vehicles way too high! The hybrid is the only thing going for it at this point, can't beat that gas mileage.
I also have 23 XLT, very similar situations and similar complaints. I could look past all the Mav's shortcomings if ford hadn't raised the price 35%+! Current price's are ridiculous for what it is, hard pass.
It was said "tongue-and-cheek", an attempt at sarcasm clearly lost on you. Like I said in my follow up/conclusion time will tell as we sure as shit don't know the long-term durability of the Maverick.
Possible over reaction, although.... Still a HUGE pain in the ass to have to take a new vehicle in for service. Code indicated intake manifold (plastic) had a leak. Ford said they couldn't find a leak and couldn't really explain the "false positive" so they essentially reset the error code...
I'm pretty sure at this point it's fair to say these parts are defective and Ford should do a recall. Way to many premature failures and unfortunately this appears to be a common occurrence.
Yeah this was a 19k truck, hence the initial popularity. And Ford has taking full advantage, don't be fooled it's still the same truck just Ford adopted the stealerships "market adjustments"
If Ford raises the prices again good luck! I hope Ford dealerships have lots of extra room as most dealerships are currently busting at the seems with overpriced stock. It's a 25k truck, it's way to close to other nicer mid size trucks at 40k+ in our current market.
Real simple, Ford wants to raise the price don't buy the vehicle (already overpriced). Ford sure as shit didn't pass the savings on to customers when they exported the jobs to Mexico.
