Thanks for this write-up.
Just saw that a 235 might not fit, but like you say even a 225 would be so much better than the factory "full size" spare. Since I pulled my Pirellis right after purchase I'm only going to need the wheel.
Don't want to pull up my DashMat just to snap a pic. I ran the strip across the bottom of the windshield, pushing the extended part into the gap between the windshield and the dash. It fits snugly, and looks good even without covering it with a dash mat (if you don't mind the "carbon fiber"...
I'd posted awhile back in another of the many dash rattle threads that I'd found a solution for the dreaded dash rattle. It eliminated the worst of the dash noise in my Maverick. That post was here

Yesterday I posted a suggestion in this thread not to buy from Temu because of data breach concerns (Google it if you're curious). Today the post has been pulled. I wonder why.
I'm also not convinced all "top tier" branded stations are only selling top tier gasoline. I've been running strictly ethanol free 87 grade in my Maverick, which is less prone to "varnishing" -- especially considering the truck is not a daily driver and can sit for a week at a time in the cold...
Wondering if I can fit a 235/65 R17 spare? Thought I read somewhere I'd need to bend back the teeth that are supposed to pop the spare in a rear-end collision.
It's an investment, but one off-road flat would probably justify the cost of a proper spare.
The Flexbed is a true marvel of modern innovation, but I'm pretty sure this choice is fairly unique among Maverick drivers.
4.5 foot leaves something to be desired, but I love my Maverick for what it is!
I've been liking my Yokohama Geolandar A/T G015s thus far. I'm running 235s. Found mine for cheap last fall on Amazon -- under five Benjamins for a set of four.
I like, especially with your mod. MUCH better than hunting around for the allen wrench. Still wondering if it'll work with my generic trifold hard tonneau mounts.
