Understood, but around these parts from November thru March the advise not to warm up your engine won't be followed by most folks. Unless they have a heated garage.

I almost always wait until the idle drops down to its normal range before taking off. In the summer months it takes a minute or two. In the winter it can take five to ten minutes.
It's a very noticeable sound when it changes from sounding like a sewing machine to, "let's go" mode.
Here in Gunnisack, I give it around five minutes. Sometimes eight or ten minutes on the -20° or below winter mornings. 🥶 Love the remote starting feature!

Actually they do make a noticeable difference in reducing the amount of slop thrown across the doors and side panels. I know because I've done before/after install comparisons after driving in some deep slush last winter. Thankfully they haven't been tested for parking lot ding protection yet.
It's a real problem that needs to be addressed. Lets hope there's some truth to this, and Ford will provide an upgrade to the "new improved" axles. Seems that would be better than numerous failures and many disgruntled customers -- some maybe for life!
Good to see some competition for these. I also think the checkerboard pattern is a fail. The big question is, how do they stand up to a pressure washer?
