Hey everyone —
Just wanted to share a quick update from my 13,000-mile oil service on my 2025 Maverick EcoBoost (MPC engine).
I do about 60–70% highway driving on NY/CT roads, so I wasn’t expecting much when I popped open the air filter box…
But surprise — the engine air filter was filthy...
I hear you — that’s exactly why I love the Ducati 998. The sound, the pull, the balance... it’s a masterpiece. Nothing quite like that 90° V-twin at 4,000 RPM snarling through a proper exhaust.
10,000 RPM = MUSIC
Glad I held out for it — it delivers every time
Hey — no worries, not hijacking at all, it’s a fair question…. (I did notice your timing … This thread’s still pretty active, so your question might just get more eyes here. All good!)
I actually looked into DynoMax before doing my muffler swap. The Ultra Flo 17217 caught my eye — compact size...
Hey, thanks for the message — and yeah, I totally get it, the thread got a bit twisted at some points so it’s easy to mix things up.
Now you’ve got me second-guessing myself…
I believe the MagnaFlow I installed was the 24" overall length / 20" muffler (pretty sure it was the 12255), and...
Fitment First:
The 24” overall muffler (like the MagnaFlow 12255) is too long to fit cleanly without modifications. I used a 20” overall unit, and it fit perfectly in the stock muffler location. Just something to consider before buying.
Internal Diameter & Flow:
The Flowmaster Flow FX is indeed...
Great question — and you're absolutely right that early synthetic use used to be debated for ring seating.
Back in the day (especially with older honing techniques and looser tolerances), manufacturers often recommended using conventional oil for the first 1,500–3,000 miles to ensure proper...
Thanks for your reply. I respect that everyone has their way of interpreting the manual — but I prefer to follow engineering logic and system design.
Ford’s official oil capacity for the 2.0L EcoBoost (MFC engine) is 6.1 quarts, and yes — when filled to that spec, the oil level lands precisely...
Thanks, but I’ll stick to OEM specs, thermodynamics, and engineering logic — not “circumstantial blog evidence.”
Oil at the MAX line is exactly where Ford engineers calibrated the system for optimal pressure, cooling, and lubrication balance.
Ford specifies 6.1 quarts for a reason — and “MIN to...
Let’s clear this up: “Full” isn’t overfilled. It’s the OEM-recommended level — tested for proper pressure, lubrication, and cooling. If the crank was foaming oil at that mark, Ford would’ve moved it lower.
Running below full is fine, but suggesting the max line causes harm is just...
Let’s get something straight here.
Suggesting that running your engine at the MIN mark is “just as good” as being at MAX is mechanically incorrect and potentially harmful — especially when others might take that advice seriously.
Ford engineers didn’t design the EcoBoost MFC to take 6.1 quarts...
Totally appreciate your experience — and honestly, that's impressive mileage across all those vehicles. No doubt Motorcraft fluids have done the job well for you, especially under NC heat and heavy loads.
In my case — over 1 million miles in the last 15 years between fleet and personal...
Yeah, great question — and I’ve been digging into this a lot too.
Best advice? Always double-check with the fluid manufacturer. I called AMSOIL’s tech line myself — they’re super helpful and can confirm exactly what works for your truck.
That said, AMSOIL’s ATF (both the Signature Series and...
Just to clarify — the PTU doesn’t have a filter like a transmission, and it runs hot under load. Heat + no filtration = faster fluid breakdown. Mine came from the factory with less fluid than spec, and what came out at 5K miles looked bad.
I get that some folks trust the 36K warranty — I prefer...
