It just sits in there. I suppose I could use velcro to attach it, but it fits in there close enough that I could wrap it with micro fiber cloth, or something, for a tighter fit. I actually like it loose like that, so I can just pull it out to enter the destination, and, also to remove and stow...
How about the storage space on top of the dash, behind the touch screen? I made a plywood block to fit in there, mounted a Ram mount for the GPS. I actually prefer the Garmin display over Google Maps:
I actually saw a Maverick out on a test drive (dealer plates) back shortly after I bought mine (1 1/2 months ago), haven't seen another since. Our dealerships each only got 2 or 3 from first shipment, and I don't think they've gotten a 2nd shipment yet. I check out the local Ford dealer...
Dunno why they thought it was a good idea to have the block heater plug located under hood? I made a short extension cord so I can keep the hood closed, just plug in up front. I tied it to the grill with some heavy string/cord. I couldn't find anywhere up front there around the...
Do you mean straight on from the side? I think the snow tires on steelies looks fugly, but they work. We had freezing rain yesterday - bad. The roads were horrible, and had to go pick up the wife from work. Those Michelin X-ice are about as good as it gets in those conditions, helluva test...
I've been running K & N air filters since the early 80's, on a variety of vehicles. I've read lots about 'em, and watched some really good scientifically conducted (YouTube) comparison tests. All filters will allow some particulate through - no such thing as 100% protection (efficiency)...
Just gassed up, gave me a chance to compare average indicated vs hand calculated actual. Combined, around 75% city driving, saw 8.2 liters/100 kms indicated - that calculated out to 8.7 actual, or 32.5 mpg Imperial, 27 mpg US. This is on Shell regular gas with ethanol, snow tires, cold...
Heard back from head parts guy at the dealership that I bought my truck from - he said ALL of the Ford accessory tonneau covers are backordered, and he also said that he "checked my other suppliers for aftermarket options and the only tonneau covers they are showing are retractable covers which...
I'm 3/4s of the way thru my 2nd tank of gas, have over 1,000 kms on the truck now. I'm indicating 8.0 liters/100 kms combined (29.4 mpg US), on snow tires, in winter. Better than the wife's Corolla ATM (she's impressed!). I'll gas up soon, do a hand calculation - 1st tank of gas showed the...
I'm in the same boat, ordered thru dealership over a month ago, told it's backordered, no idea at all when or if it will arrive. If I'm still waiting months from now, I'd buy a cap if Leer or A.R.E. had 'em in production. Supposedly A.R.E. is developing one for the Maverick. I'd almost rather...
No TPMS on the steelies. I keep getting alerts on the FordPass Connect app on my phone! Can't remember if I'm getting a caution or warning on the dash.
I was reading and watching some snow tire reviews. The Michelin X-ice seem to be optimized for control in icy conditions rather than deep snow. At least that's what this comparison testing seems to indicate. The Blizzaks were better in the snow...
I don't think I'd go out on a lake or river in deep snow with them, but they are excellent on slick roads, and moderately deep snow. The X-ice Latitude are made for light truck/SUV applications too:
