Seems a reasonable question to me. When I'm driving a car that has a tach, I will occasionally glance at it out of curiosity, but that's about it. I've had a numerous cars both manual and automatic over the years that didn't have a tach and I never found myself missing it. But as has been...
Well, after viewing the progression of this thread, it's getting pretty obvious that historical facts from 8 or 9 months ago don't count for much in the here and now. I mean good grief, the member I responded to had an estimated May build date, and was hoping for a June delivery....and his truck...
I don't use eco anymore after a good deal of experimenting showed it didn't make any difference for me. I get 43-45 MPG per tank either way. I do believe a LOT depends on your driving habits and routes, terrain and traffic patterns and such. Far more so than in my experience with ICE...
I've never been in the habit of naming my vehicles. I figure the name stamped on the tailgate is good enough for me. BUT....if I were so inclined, I would probably call mine "Julius". You know....'cause it's orange. 😜
As o
I used eco mode for a couple of tanks, and got about the same numbers as I did in normal mode. I got 43-45 MPG either way, so I don't bother with it anymore. I don't think eco does anything you can't do for yourself with a little effort. Perhaps it will help improve your mileage if you...
OK, I see. I have the opposite situation with almost entirely city driving. Had the thing 7 months, and have yet to do any significant highway driving. Man, I gotta get out of town! 😳
AC is surely a factor, but there's gotta be more to it. I run the AC full-time here in NC, and routinely blast past the EPA numbers.. I must have an ideal commute or something.
Note: You can subtract about 1 or 2 MPG from those display figures. They are always a bit overblown.
When I first became interested in the Maverick, I took my wife to a local dealer to scope out the various colors. The Ford website examples looked a little off to my eye and I wanted to see some real life examples. We walked onto the lot and my wife immediately caught sight of a Cyber Orange...
Agreed. One of the many great things about the hybrid Maverick is that it's perfectly possible to keep up with traffic and still get fantastic gas mileage. Why piss everybody off for a few extra pennies?
I feel the same way about mine. It may not make sense to be so excited about and satisfied with an "entry level" vehicle....but there it is. After seven months I still find myself cooking up excuses to drive it. Who'da thunk it? 😉
Beautiful truck by the way, and a big congratulations!
I've seen only a very few Mavericks in my area in the seven months I've owned mine, and none in my color. So imagine my surprise the other day when on the way to work, I saw not only a Maverick in a driveway near my home....but a Cyber Orange one at that. It was still there on my way back, so I...
I was wondering this too. He said it was 2013, so maybe it was a thing ten years ago? 🤔
Anyway, they'd have have it wrong in my case. The only thing "green" about me is my money. I don't like wasting it....or sending any more of it than I can avoid to some Saudi potentate.
I have found the Maverick's range to be closer to 600 miles myself. So I will say that if and when an EV Maverick is available with a 600 mile range, the price is in the mid twenties, a full charge can be done in ten minutes, and charging stations are as ubiquitous as gas stations are...
