I keep reading here that the hybrid will be "more reliable."
Honestly I do not understand that...the vehicle will not even be sold until December....though I certainly wish it well.
Well, why the interest? Local gas stations are $3.53-$3.59/gallon.
If you own a current gen Ranger and want the advertised hp, you need 93 octane. Around here that sets you back $4.10/gallon. OUCH.
Well...the obvious question is..how do you know the hybrid package will last longer? The electric motor is new and in-house. And why would the eCVT necessarily last longer than the slushbox?
When I think of a Ford in-house product...I think of the infamous 6.0 diesel developed after they parted...
Saw a video in which the reviewer made a big point of the Lariat's driving position being too low...and his knee hitting hard plastic on the door.
I realize this is very subjective...but please give me your experience based observations.
If it's going to be like a Toyota Tacoma, I won't waste...
Really? Anyone who thinks the Toyota Tacoma has good seats is delusional. The Tacoma has had the worst drivers' seat for years. And it is pointed out in many reviews.
I owned a Tacoma for a short while in 2012...should have driven it longer before buying. The seated position gave me leg pain...
Any structural engineers on the forum?
They could discuss how structures deal with stress...and how they don't do so.
If an issue with the unibody surfaces....I will be holding on to my 2006 Ranger for a while!
Interesting...I am following this forum and Santa Cruz forum before I buy.
Was really leaning toward the SC but the QC issues there are serious---like a tailgate that opens itself on the freeway (potentially really dangerous to the guy behind you) and leaking sunroofs and electrical gremlins...
Nice truck!
Falken Wildpeaks are great tires. Have them on my 2006 Ranger yardtruck. No problems in the muddy compost dump-even with only RWD.
Plus they really look good.
The Santa Cruz forum has some threads on the DCT. None of them good. Their immediate issue appears to be a lack of QC...installing them w/o adequate fluid.
But after reading your post, I have no idea why Hyundai put a DCT in a vehicle designed for truck-like usage. "Absolutely no creeping..."...
From "Old Car Memories"...
And Car Life on another occasion tested a base 4-bbl 389 1965 GTO and managed a 6.6 second 0-60 mph time and a 1/4 mile of 14.8 seconds at 99 mph. This was proof that those buyers who could not afford the Tri-Power setup could still get great performance.
BTW...the...
Thanks...I saw the their "Gremlin" thread. I have decided not to buy until March-April. So hopefully that will be enough time to see how both the SC and Mav shake out.
BUT what really freaked me out on the SC Forum...a guy said his tailgate opened itself while he was driving down the freeway...
