I have an Alto Blue... I went with raised black letters with a red outline. I also blacked out the trim on the logo and put a smoke overlay on the backup light over the bed of the truck.
I noticed after the update that I sometimes have to unplug/plug in the cord when I first start the truck to get the system to start Android Auto. I have also gone into Spottily and have to do a reboot or unplug/plug in the cord to get the channels to show up.
About a week ago I saw 4 different Mavericks. 2 carbon gray, a velocity blue and an area 51... All at different times on the same day. A couple of days later I saw an Alto Blue, same color as mine. That's the most I have seen at once in the wild. I really think we probably miss them on the road...
I got some side molding for my truck because someone in a white car put a tiny ding in the door. I also used it across the tail gate and it made a big difference. I still get a little water in the bed from a car wash but it is minimal. The roll was the perfect length and it left only a small piece.
I just ran across the article.. I didn't look close at the dates. Absolutely the first time I had heard about these. To be honest, I think the logistics of making a tag like this work would be prohibitive. It would make more sense to have the manufacturer build a plate directly onto the vehicle...
The article mentioned it having to be installed.by the dealership. GPS and transponders would be pretty inexpensive to add. Some form or fashion of this idea might be doable.. as it is presented I would stay away from it.
The signs themselves shouldn't be expensive to produce. Think about electronic signs in retail stores. Durability would be a concern. It probably ties into the OBD2 for monitoring. There is no doubt they will be a target for hacking as well. This could make it even easier for third parties to...
I just read where they are going to start putting electronic license plates on cars....

"Personalized license plates are out; digital license plates are in—at least in Arizona and California, where the technology is currently...
I did mine last night... It took every bit of an hour to download and install. I didn't mess with it any afterwards. I will see if I notice anything over the next few days.
I just checked the service report. .. yep, says they replaced the airbag. I went in to have the oil changed and tires rotated.... they did the airbag while it was there. No tumbler yet.. but it does say the recall was completed on the airbag.
I have an Alto Blue and really like the color too. More often than not, most folks think it is black. Early in the morning when the sky is clear the blue really pops. I've had mine just over a year and have had no regrets at all. Great little truck!
You would think the install was pretty straight forward and not easy to mess up.... The get ready guys at the dealership accepted the challenge and installed mine upside down.... I flipped it over and it fit just fine.
