Yeah, it's long. When I ordered I guessed 3-4 months and the dealer said "Maybe."
However, they are building many more Mavs per month now than they were last fall, so you may not have to wait quite as long as some of us did.
Probably depends in part on trim level, Hybrid or Ecoboost, and how many additional features you ordered. My simple XL hybrid with Co-Pilot 360 was ordered and confirmed on August 25, and finally got built on May 11. We know there was a delay in building hybrids that didn't seem to affect the...
For what it's worth, my order tracking started to show "in production" on Sunday, May 1. It continued to look that way until Wednesday, May 11. That evening I received an e-mail from Ford stating that my XL (hybrid) had been completed that day. The order tracking still showed "in production"...
Haven't got my truck yet, but I don't expect it to be a big deal. At age 72 last fall I got the first automatic trans I had driven in over 50 years, and it only took a week or so to stop going for the clutch pedal or reaching out to down shift at a traffic light. Now that I'm once again...
Thanks. Now that I posted this, the forum shows me "similar" posts. Dunno why I didn't get those from searching, but looks like 10 to 14 days is about normal.
I can't seem to find an answer, though I imagine it's here somewhere. What is the typical time required once an order enters production status?
My XL (ordered last August) has been "in production" for over a week now. It's nothing unusual except it does have Co-pilot 360. The other features are...
And... This afternoon (March 11) Ford sent another message saying they were pushing back production of my truck from the week of April 25 to the next week, May 2. April fools anyone? If they do it twice more they'll be up to nine months from date of order.
Few hours later: It appears to be working now, so you were right. The four digit "order code" is the "order number." That and the supplied VIN brought up tracking that correctly identified the vehicle, dealer, order date, confirmation date, etc. Hoped to get the window sticker, but that still...
OK, got that. Using it as "order number" on the tracking page, though it no longer complains about missing data, just returns the same page with order number and VIN, nothing else. No error message, nothing.
Finally! Eight months from order to scheduled build is not stellar, Ford. However:
Email received ~10:25 AM CST today, March 3, 2022
Order was placed on August 25, 2021. Build week, April 25, 2022. VIN received.
Hybrid XL FWD, Velocity blue. 100A, +floor liners, carpeted; 400W inverter...
Yes, my dealer assured me several weeks ago that the price I signed for was not subject to any increases or markups. Of course, that's only a verbal promise. But I'm more concerned at the continuing delays in building what is already ordered than at the prospects for any future purchases. When I...
Congratulations! My order is a month behind yours (8/25) and still no build date or VIN. I think Ford has done a really lousy job on communication when it comes to scheduling and delays. They need to issue some huge apologies. Offering a bunch of plastic accessories that will likely never be...
OK, got it. Yeah, it seems a silly omission to me as well, though I'm not very much accustomed to using it. From what I've read, they saved a few nickels by not including the necessary sensors or control stubs on the engine, so aftermarket installation of a cruise control is not going to be...
Note: the XL does NOT offer cruise control. You do want an XLT (or Lariat) if you require that. So far, there is no way to add cruise control to the XL.
In spite of their missteps in implementing this design, and poor understanding of the demand and likely audience for the Maverick, I'm not too worried about it being the first year. Even the hybrid power train is not really new, it's almost the same as the one that has been used in the Eclipse...
Congratulations on the order. I hope it doesn't take too long to get built. Generally, it seems that the 2.0 Ecoboosts are being built more quickly. For me, it had to be the hybrid, and in fact the hybrid engine at such a low price was what sold me on the Maverick, though it has a lot of other...
