  1. Electric Maverick Coming 2027 - says Autoline [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS]

Absolutely spot on and research I've seen showed most with PHEV don't even plug them in. So defeats the point. Even if plugged in you've got to have low/avg cost electricity in order to make sense. Example, a PHEV Mav getting 3 miles/kwh means it will cost about $0.05/mile to run at $0.15/kwh...
  2. Electric Maverick Coming 2027 - says Autoline [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS]

Yeah gas would have to double in price and electric prices would need to stay consistent or fall for me to consider an EV personally. The hybrid is just a perfect blend of everything. Ford really hit it out of the park. A slightly more powerful electric motor and slightly larger battery (maybe...
  3. SSM 53801: 2022-2025 Maverick Hybrid 12V Battery Drain Issue Update Fix Released!

There is an issue with the wiring harness on 2022 hybrids. Battery saver mode wasn't what killed your truck. Keep in mind the high voltage battery charges the 12v when turned on. When people don't drive a lot, and just do short hops now and then, the charger is coded badly and doesn't give...
  4. Electric Maverick Coming 2027 - says Autoline [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS]

I can't imagine we'll see a PHEV Maverick due to the increased weight the battery will bring, thus limiting the payload and towing abilities. The hybrid Mav is already so cost effective to own, at $0.08/mile operating cost in gas, that I just don't see the PHEV version being that great of an...
  5. Ongoing Never Ending DEAD BATTERY / DRAINED issue FORD CAN'T or WON'T FIX!!!!

What if you plugged in a battery charger and wired it direct to the battery lol. Just added it to the center console plug and ran the wires into the 12v compartment. Use Forscan to shut off the plugs right after power down instead of keeping them alive for 5-10 minutes after shutdown.
  6. Ongoing Never Ending DEAD BATTERY / DRAINED issue FORD CAN'T or WON'T FIX!!!!

A lot of newer cars are having this same issue. Toyota, Kia, etc. Due to various issues. On ours, I think it's a lack of charging that Ford has instituted to increase MPGs. Some may have bad AT&T reception, which also may cause the modem to use higher power as it searches, and drain the 12v...
  7. Everyone Thinks It’s a High-End Trim — But It’s Just This F150LEDs Kit!

I know you are enthusiastic about it but IMO it looks like a teen aftermarket kit install. I used ADA 1626 LEDs and put turquoise tape over them w/ 3.3k resistors and they came out much closer to what a factory ambient lighting kit would look like IMO. Still just a touch bright but pretty close...
  8. Hot weather hybrid milage.

I run a scanner app and have included ACCC in my gauge cluster which stands for A/C compressor current. I generally see 2-4 amps running through it although every now and then it will spike to 14. At 220-240v you're taking 4-5 horsepower required to run the compressor at 14 amps. At 3-4 amps...

  10. AGM for Hybrid

Just an FYI on battery size. I don't really think it matters in the hybrid. My wife has a Prius and it's on the same battery since 2015 (fingers crossed lol). 400 CCA. It was an Advance Auto generic as well (AGM type). It's down to around 12.2 resting volts if sitting for a few days and not...
  11. 2025 Hybrid Gear Ratios & HF45 Transaxle Technical Info

The HF55 looks to have some beefed up components vs the HF45 for sure. I will say it would be interesting to buy a 22-24 hybrid in ten years or so when they get cheapish and really beat on it towing wise and see what it can sustain long term.
  12. Maverick's new competition no longer competition

You just have to do the math. At 12 amps and 120v that is 1440 watts. If your vehicle gets 300 watts per mile, you're putting 4.8 miles per hour into it. If using a 20 amp plug/charger you're getting 1900 watts which is about 6.4 miles per hour. It's simple math. In OP's case he himself...
  13. Maverick's new competition no longer competition

EV chargers will not supply more than 80% of rated amount. 12 amps on 15 amp and 16 amps on 20 amp outlet if it has a 20 amp plug. You are 100% out of your element here. Instead of a discussion your immediate response is knee jerk argumentative. Congrats on being the first ever to make the...
  14. Maverick's new competition no longer competition

Because they're basing it off of 15 amp plug which is 12 continuous. So 1440 watts per hour or 4.8 miles per hour assuming 300w/mi. Overnight is whatever their definition is, I'd say 11-12 hours personally (ie 7pm-7am) which is 53-57 miles overnight, very close to their 50 mile number. You...
  15. Maverick's new competition no longer competition

I got the 65-70 miles from doing the math which I wrote in my post??
  16. Maverick's new competition no longer competition

I'm all for subsidies that increase US independence on foreign imports and/or reducing costs when viewed from a long term vantagepoint. I'm not for subsidies that funnel money out of the US.
  17. Maverick's new competition no longer competition

15 amps @ 120v = 1800 watts. At 300 w/mi you're at 6 miles per hour charging. An overnight charge is going to be around 65-70 miles of range on a 120v 20 amp outlet. Not terrible for daily commuting. Not sure where you read 100 units a year, that seems pretty low to me.
  18. Maverick's new competition no longer competition

The US has spent tens of trillions on securing our energy supply via wars and the military, all to extend a transportation system that sends hundreds of billions of dollars out of this country annually. I'm all for getting rid of subsidies but if we're going to pick favorites, let's do the same...
  19. Towing a 5x8 U-Haul trailer

OP has a hybrid so it's over the max.
