I also looked at the SC-. For me 3 issues:
-not many dealers close to me
- it had a DCT
- and it was a Hyundai- I think they make good EV's, not ICE vehicles
I also found the Lobo- which I feel was a great deal (402A/employee pricing)) and is the best looking "compact truck"
I'm sure you will pay more than what you paid for the Maverick. Plus you will have no radio or paint. I see this as a limited use 3rd vehicle, not something you want to drive everyday. It will have some early curiosity appeal like the Cyber-joke, but I don't see it being a mainstream product.
$30-$35K is the new entry spot. If this EV truck is named a Maverick, it will be in name only. The EV platform will be optimized for EV only. The existing hybrid and Ecoboost models will have their own revised C2 platform. You can't have the Maverick tied to a platform that could have initial...
Maverick EV will not be $30,000. Also, that means the Gen 2 Maverick will be ready for a 2028 model year. I expect there will 2 different interior trim levels- XL, XLT like current and LOBO, Lariat, Tremor and EV will have upgraded interiors and cost more then current- closer to $48,000
Mustang 2.3 and Maverick 2.0 are MPC generation designs. The 300 T was designed around this engine design. Any Maverick EB prior to '25 is the older engine design.
this is part of 300T package- $1000 intercooler +tune $1000? +2.3 Turbo $2500? + install $2500?= around $7000 for 50 hp. If you get the Lobo suspension and brakes I would say around $9000.
this is BS for a new vehicle to have this issue. do other brands have this issue? If my truck had this issue I would dump it the next day. What you drive must be reliable- if it isn't why would you continue to own it.
I always say- your money, your decision. You asked for thoughts about what you did. I gave a response- not a put-down. I'm sorry if you took it that way.
