I actually think that the Maverick is bigger than it should be. Prior to 96, the F150 was virtually the same size as the Maverick unless you got the extended cab. The 86 Ranger was actually a bit smaller than the Maverick. Ever since then the midsize and large pickups have been getting bigger...
Ok. Call it 10hp more for 25% more cost and insufficient PEA to keep your valves and injectors working properly. But 10hp more in a truck that already has excellent power-to-weight ratio on 87 fuel. Uhuh.
Why do you need high octane for an engine that is built to run 87 and costs 25% less? And the no-corn fuel is not TopTier and will carbon up your intake valves and injectors, so that also makes no sense.
The factory tires are 3-season only. If you're in snow, you need a snow-rated tire. That normally means a softer rubber compound, loose sidewalls, self-clearing lugs, as much rubber on the ground as possible (eliminating any offroad tires) and micro-sipes in the tread. This means separate...
The sidewall says they are a 60k mile tire. If you don't get 60k out of them, then the problem is you and not the tire. Are you rotating them routinely, or stomping on the throttle or brakes, or doing high-speed cornering?
I took a Faraday pouch back because it didn't work. Lock the door and try to open it with the fob in the pouch in your pocket. Instead I used a metal candy tin that works a lot better.
Yeah, the stupid little wrench that they put in the toolkit is way too short to do 150lbs for 90% of the population. Its one of those little things that Ford could improve. Make sure you carry a real breaker bar and torque wrench as a workaround.
The Hybrid-specific warranty is 8 years, and its not prorated. Just take it to the dealer if it ever goes. Unlike the 12V battery, the only people who have had them replaced are due to early failures, so very rare and probably some kind of damage when built or rock impact damage due to abuse...
The FWD puts a lot more pressure on the front tread and just drags along the rears. The AWD is 98% FWD and only engages the rear diff when the fronts are slipping. Your front tires will show far more wear than the rears. Rotate them or buy a lot more tires.
The original tread depth was 10/32. So you only have 3/32 wear on them. The stock Michelin tires are good for 60k, as marked on the sidewall. That's to the 2/32 tread depth that is recognized as worn out and the depth of the treadwear indicators. I'm not sure why you're measuring to 7/32...
Sport mode shuts off the engine when stopped at a light on the 23 Hybrid. It also has that stupid fake shifting sound and throttle backoff for those that miss the feel of their slushbox for some reason.
I've only had those warnings once in 3 years in Ontario, in the middle of a heavy snowstorm. Either yours has something wrong with it or you are not cleaning your windshield or using your wipers.
The things that are likely to fail (like the 12v battery or brakes for examples) are considered wear items and not covered by an extended warranty. Extended warranty is useless for 99% of the people purchasing one.
