Well if you change it based on olm system they will warranty it. I still change mine at 0-5 percent life. But I have another 2.0 thatās pushing 300k of tuned e30. That gets run to zero.
To me the warranty goes away so fast I donāt care.
Yep just takes a quick search to find mine. I used to be an oil is cheap guy. But started testing my oil to back up my assumption. Both I was proven wrong.
I went to 0 percent oil after an almost perfect balance of my driving. Even at 0 percent oil life left my reports came back fine with a...
Just an update. 85k miles in. Lots of towing all through the mountains.
Second set of 265ās on this truck. Hauled over 8k back from south Texas and been running it tuned for over 75k miles.
I know you are shocked but these āto big of tiresā have not cause any issues. Not a single one. Iāve also...
Itās a ecoboost as the profile says, 4k and a lonely old xl with 265/60-18 copper rugged treks on it.
I know I know Iām ruining it. Montana already told me I was gonna ruin all the parts by running a bigger tire.

Different fluids with different reasons to change. Do I think itās needed nope. Do I do it yep. But I also change my oil early for the same reason I would do brakes. I stress mine out before the time window so for me it is not as big of deal. But one fluid is as hydraulic system and all about...
Has me thinking though. Is my tune also using the same idea? When being pushed harder in towing, maybe itās mapped to add more fuel at a slightly higher than perfect ratio. Or as temps climb it adds? Similar to the cat protection setting in the tunes. When they get hot they start dumping in fuel...
Correct I guess I was assuming some kind of ethanol or methanol would be the raising factor for octane thus making it cooler. A lot of the fuel in my area is raised that way. All things equal yes.
My bad to assume knowing dang well I see 93 no E in a lot of places.
to add to that higher Octane...
So Iām wondering with how much over I have towed and purposely went wot to see how it did.
Could it be my tune thatās keeping things cool?
Maybe fans being in turbo mode early? Or simply better use of fuel?
I can say you may not see Octane on your temp gauge but it absolutely matters. 87...
Good for you sounds like you have an amazingly adventurous life.
Explain to me how two people on an open road having some fun is factually dangerous? To many variables. Whatās the difference if a guy in his 300whp maverick accelerates wide open up to the 75mph speed limit while next to another...
Iād give it a go for sure. Seemed to have plenty of reserve on all
The stuff Iāve done. So not sure a slight increase in boost would make much of a difference but never know.
This is not rational.
To think it can never be safe to have fun is insane. Time and place my man.
You canāt bubble wrap your life. You have a higher chance of someone else running a red light on accident than a safe little road challenge.
So feel free to stay in the thread but stop with the...
Iām not so sure Iāve had mine tuned for 80k miles and if you see my threads this thing gets abused with towing way above what it should. So far so good. If it goes out rebuild and keep playing.
I do change it fairly often just for that reason. Every 30-50k depends on timing. But I can say the amsoil seems to hold up much better in the conditions than the ford stuff. Never looks bad when draining and fill. Ford stuff looked rough after 20k
I disagree it does affect it but I can tell you heat form use is far more detrimental to brake fluid.
Go to any hpde track day and ask how long they go between fluid changes. They go hand in hand but fluid being hot breaks down. For easy daily stuff time may be the bigger issue but if you are...
I can say based on mpg for these trips. Iām not sure that the heavier load would make a difference in the heat.
I think once I hit close to the 4k it seems to get about the same mpg. More likely caused by the frontal area and wind drag.
Headed back to Atlanta tomorrow am and my maps is already...
