  1. Who uses a “Foam Cannon” for pressure washers?

I have one and it works okay. Not as good as the ones for a pressure washer but easier for me than dunking in the bucket. I have to use the max setting to get enough soap foam but that soap is not that expensive. Use a shady area or do it on a shady day or the soap will dry out before you get to...
  2. Installed USB CD Player in the Maverick

Good idea and it looks nice. I recently re-assembled my home audio after 10+ years and have enjoyed listening to my old CDs and vinyl. I've found I no longer have any interest in listening to over half of them so that will cut my collection down to a manageable size. I listen to satellite in the...
  3. B2000

St. Louis MO area Maverick Club

Welcome! I replaced my 1987 Mazda long bed and my other car is a 2004. I like the safety features and the push button starting. I don't drive a ton of miles- have had no problems except auto start/stop not working unless I charge the battery.
  4. What is the total profit for a Maverick?

I could tell my dealer was not happy when I did not buy the paint and interior protection insurance or finance it with them or buy a warranty. I'm sure they did not make much. But then again they were not aware of the the order window in 2022 until I told them about it so that probably helped...
  5. Decisions: what to use 22K FordPass Reward Points on?

Thanks for the info. I lost a few at the first of the year but have a while to use the rest.
  6. I have looked but can't find, will ford void my warranty if I go with an oil besides motorcraft?

Per an earlier thread my friend that was a service manager for 15 years says a dealer/manufacturer could only deny a warranty claim if they could prove the oil or your selected oil change intervals caused the problem.
  7. 1980 Car and Driver Mini-Truck Comparison

My Maverick is about the same length as my old B2000 but it had the long bed which was 7.5 feet. Mav is wider- nicked the mirror a couple of times pulling it into the garage. Sold the Mazda with over 200,000 miles. A delivery driver blew the radiator and kept driving so it had a replacement...
  8. It's Confirmed: Matchbox is Making a Stock Ford Maverick (Update: Official Photo)

Nice that the hood opens so I can attach my scale model Battery Tender to mine.
  9. Where to route battery tender wires to grill?

I did something similar. I hardwired the BT cable to the battery and then bought a short 12" extender from Amazon since the BT extension is way too long. I just leave the plug flush with the hood so I don't have to open the hood to charge. That said the only problem I have had is the auto...
  10. How fussy about washing?

I got rid of my compressor so I bought a foamer that attaches to my garden hose and I use a dedicated car wash soap. The foamer is not quite as good as the compressor ones but I can get the whole truck soaped much faster. I use a brush with soft bristles because it makes it easier for me to get...
  11. How many older would welcome reliable self-driving?

I like all of the safety features on my Maverick- other car has none of that. Yes I would embrace a self driving car at some point especially if it had overrides. Think I am out of luck on the motorcycle though.
  12. Service engine oil light is a joke

I agree with most of your points. My point- after talking to friends who are a master mechanic and long term service advisor- is that changing oil based on time is not necessary and a system that is based on time is not valid- any more than the sticker on the windshield. I will probably do it...
  13. Service engine oil light is a joke

Did I search through old threads? No, my interest is not that great. I was commenting on a current thread.
  14. Service engine oil light is a joke

None of you are explaining why the system would tell me to change the oil after 2000 miles unless it is driven simply by the date.
  15. Service engine oil light is a joke

Keurig is fairly new and used daily for at least 2 cups with filtered water from the refrigerator. My point is that most of these machines do not have sophisticated sensors that are monitoring some adverse condition or conditions. The Keurig triggers the light based on either time or cycles...
  16. the Ford Maverick is the worst auto deal right now?? whaaaaat???

Ford has increased the price by a significant amount and they still seem to be selling which seems like good business practice. If dealers start sitting on inventory that might affect the price of the 2025 even though that one gets a refresh. I'm taking my bad deal to get some mulch today.
  17. Stop/Start

There are threads you can find about this. The feature only works if the battery is charged to 70% or more and the battery management only allows the battery to be charged to 80% so you have to be in that narrow range for it to work. I put a battery tender on my truck and it worked for a day...
  18. Service engine oil light is a joke

Yes- retired and multiple vehicles. The ONLY reason to change oil based on time is warranty requirements which are not based on oil qualities and performance. It is a pure money grab.
  19. Service engine oil light is a joke

If they are using anything but time on my truck their "algorithm" is deeply flawed. My truck sees extremely easy service. My friends who have worked in automotive service for decades agree time is a BS factor when figuring oil serviceability especially now with synthetics and blends.
  20. Service engine oil light is a joke

I would definitely prefer to go with option 1 but I have no doubt if I don't change it once a year Ford would deny any engine related warranty claim.
