  1. Starting a fad

I'm no professor, but did a bit of Googling the term Maverick as it applies to animals and a LOT of people associate Maverick with horses. It may be wrong, but when enough of us are wrong, it becomes right. You keep passing out those tiny plastic horses. I'd proudly display one on my dashboard.
  2. Who is the target market for Ford Maverick

I'm the last of the baby boomers at 60 years. I can see how the interior style is marketed for the younger market but so was the Kia Soul and Honda Element and plenty of practical boomers bought em. I have a pair of Stihl gloves that came free with my chainsaw, they're grey with black & orange...
  3. Hybrid or Ecoboost for my use case?

My '24 XLT with lux package has remote start on the keyfob. This is a tough call cause your driving demands are kinda in the middle. Either would serve your needs well. How many miles per year do you rack up? That might be the determining factor. I didn't have a choice as I bought one in dealer...
  4. 2.0L - Ecoboost downgraded to 238/HP ?

I'm just basing that off times I've seen from reviews over the years. I'd like to see two Identical Mavs in FWD & AWD go for it side by side. Anyone know the front/rear weight bias in a Mav? If wheelspin off the line is an issue, AWD takes it. But my Mav isn't lighting up the tires on takeoff on...
  5. TipTop tonneau

As requested. After an hour long shower last night, tailgate took a bit of water in the corners but otherwise dry. Last pic is my windshield screen my wife made for me, the dogs are actual pictures of our two knuckleheads laid over a pic of a car interior.
  6. TipTop tonneau

TY Glenn, most sites I follow require hosting pics thru a separate site which is just more trouble than it's worth. Will try to post pics this weekend. When I installed my tonneau I had to climb in the bed, was a sunny day and with the tailgate open I saw no daylight from the front or the sides...
  7. 2.0L - Ecoboost downgraded to 238/HP ?

Yup, 2.0l eco with FWD. I'm betting a FWD ecoboost gets to 60mph faster than AWD on flat dry pavement. Anyone know how much weight the AWD system adds?
  8. TipTop tonneau

Do pics have to be uploaded to a host site or can they be loaded to this site?
  9. 2.0L - Ecoboost downgraded to 238/HP ?

So 2025 offers no FWD only 2.0l Ecoboost? Only available AWD? Those of us with a heavy foot do not approve. And I thought the reason that the hybrid was no longer the std. powertrain was because they couldn't make enough to meet demand? I hate to say it, but so far there's nothing in the 2025...
  10. Where to route battery tender wires to grill?

I have one of the older Battery Tenders in the metal case and I use a 20ft extension with the dual trailer pole connectors. Been wanting to do the same, run a permanent connection from the battery to the grill so I don't have to open the hood but I don't see an easy path. Would love to mount...
  11. TipTop tonneau

Saw a review for 'The cheapest tonneau you can buy' which was a TipTop soft rollup odered off Amazon for $160. Review was positive but I wanted a soft tri fold, and surprise! Amazon has a Tiptop soft trifold for $160 shipped. Installed it today and gotta say, well worth the money. Easy to follow...
  12. Maverick work trucks in the wild

The day I brought my Maverick home I saw one tagged for the local Water Company just a few doors up from mine. They normally use Escapes so going to a Maverick makes sense.
  13. Dog approved? 🐕 How does your pup like your Maverick?

One of my dogs was my first passenger in the Maverick (trip to the vet). I just threw a blanket over the back seat but have a pet cover with the seat extender on it's way. She's 100 lbs andwhile she seemed to have enough room, I'm hoping the seat extender will add a bit more. Our other dog is 90...
  14. Harbor freight tailgate step ladder...

I use a folding aluminum one step, it's about 1 ft x 2.5 ft, sits about a foot off the ground and is rated for 300lbs. Not sure who makes it, got it at Northern Tool a long time ago. Whatever you use, make sure it's rated for your weight and whatever you're carrying, and it's stable enough when...
  15. Doh! Santa Cruz tops Maverick in Initial Quality (2024 JD Power Survey)

I've been watching both the Maverick & Santa Cruz when they rolled out and recently my wife bought a '24 Santa Fe and a close friend bought a mid-range non-turbo Santa Cruz. Both are great vehicles and appear to have good build quality. But I went with a '24 Mav XLT with the luxury package and...
  16. Ford Maverick Is Almost The Perfect Truck, But One Part Of It Really Sucks

I'd like to see the shift dial a bit taller & 'knobbier', but the few things I'd like to change would be the Auto Start Stop & Drive modes stay how I set them. Although even in hilly terrain it doesn't get caught sleeping in Normal mode so lately that's where I stay anyways. We'll see how it...
  17. Maverick popularity is all about the money, boyz.

Last truck I had was an '07 Tundra. Great truck but just way too big for my needs. Fuel economy with the 5,7 wasn't bad. But a PITA to park, harder to get in and out, and couldn't just reach in to the bed. And it very much rode like a truck. The Ranger may have more capabilities but I prefer the...
  18. Is the XL base enough?

I think Ford is just tossing in a few more options on the XL to offset the price increase but I don't want to see the Maverick move so far up the ladder you can't get an XL for what a Civic costs. And everything's priced relative to everything else. If Lariat & XLT move up, the XL probably will...
