Color matched canopy on the Maverick looks weird - needs to be black - ideally matching the plastic color. Black works for all colors of the Maverick. Looks more like a truck still. LineX on the canopy might look cool.
You all won't like the dial shifter when your kid or dog accidentally brushes it and it changes gears. Happened to me last week. It's in a terrible spot. It should be on the dash or something.
Got word that ARE is taking preorders on the V and MX series canopies for the Maverick and a preorder can be placed at your local ARE dealer.
NO PICTURES YET THOUGH
My only concern before ordering is what the heck these will look like - specifically how they will sit and meet the cab...
Basically I'm just clamping onto the bed rail and I have a piece of metal bent to go up over the bed and out the side, I can post more pictures. If you don't have a tonneau cover you can just attach on the rail and have the antenna inside the bed.
The vehicle acts as a counterpoise for the...
Do the height bolts just go all the way through or are they threaded?
Wondering if it would be possible to cut 4" off the outside piece and the inside piece and re-drill holes so it would be more of a 10" and 20" rack.
Also wish they would use knobs for the adjustment bolts rather than allens...
Your system doesn't extend above the cab though, correct?
I carry SUP's and Kayaks so I do need the highest position to be above the cab height.
My complaint is that the lowest position 18" height of the Truxedo rack and the Elephant is STILL ABOVE the cab height and the 28" position is like...
Cool - yeah I was interested in their rack system as it was a little cheaper.
How are the racks at 18" and sitting above the cab? Any noise or whistling?
I really wish someone would have made one more specific to the maverick with racks that could be lowered below the height of the cab for a...
Saw this the other day and wondering if anyone has purchased/installed one yet?
The bottom height is 18" and it seems like even at that height it will sit slightly above the cab height. You need to purchase the TS rails and it seems like only inside style tonneau covers will work so the Gator...
I use premium but not for the gas milage. I have a thread on here that shows that using premium for better gas milage is not worth the $$. You'll only see 1 MPG or less difference with premium.
However, with premium I do find the engine runs smoother and in turbo systems premium is recommended...
Not OEM but gives an idea of what an aftermarket black canopy might look like.
Here's what a even lower profile roof line matching one would look like - I also did this one with the gap reduced at the top of the cab. I have my doubts any of the aftermarket ones will meet my expectations :)
Talked to a dealer yesterday and they are taking preorders on the V and MX so should be some normal versions coming :) can’t wait to see what they look like. Supposed to be available before summer.
For some of the smaller magnet mount antennas the roof works fine but routing the coax is still a little tough.
On many other trucks you can run coax between the cab and bed but because it’s a unibody there’s no gap on the Maverick :)
Youll be able to make some 10 meter contacts from the truck with conditions getting better. Although not technically legal many people starting out will get a 10/11 meter export radio such as a Anytone 6666 or a President Lincoln 2 and then you can talk on cb or 10 meters.
If you're only taking two bikes and don't want a huge pad covering the whole tailgate Softride makes a 25" pad. It's the perfect size for a small truck - https://amzn.to/3K0PGm2
Hi Everyone,
I'm a ham radio operator as well as a CB radio operator and put a lot of thought into how to install antennas on the Ford Maverick so I wanted to give you some feedback on what I found about installs and running cables.
This writeup is going to focus on CB antenna installs but...
I tried locking the truck with the tailgate open but still had power at the back!
The power inside shuts down way sooner than the power in the bed after you pull out the key.
