2022 Ecoboost 93,000
Biggest issues - having to do all the maintenance myself because the dealer wants $120 for an oil change and $1500 for rotors and pads :)
Driver seat headrest adjustment plastic piece broke 1st year
Paint got a bunch of chips in the 1st year - paint probably wasn't cured...
Should be more off road capable - more clearance better angles at least from the videos I've seen. That would be about the only reason to buy one over a Maverick.
yeah my front ones didn’t have much on them at all. The way they are designed it doesn’t seem like they sit in the grease as well as older style systems where you’d pull the sliders and there would be blue grease all over them.
There isn’t a lot of travel area on these though so maybe that’s...
Just wondering for those who did their rotors/brake pads if they greased the caliper slider pins.
I greased mine as they didn’t seem to have a lot of grease on them. In the old days I didn’t always add grease if they looked good. These ones don’t seem to hold as much grease as the old style...
Baseload antenna with 48” steel whip (painted black). Used a Simpson deck plate - flattened in a vice - the hole in those is the exact size for the antenna mount plastic isolator washer. Used hole on other side for mounting to rack system in c channel with t bolt/nut. 1.2 SWR. Been talking to...
I think for most people CB radio is more of a hobby these days. Fun to have in the vehicle and could still be useful in an emergency. If you’re seriously off-roading most people carry a satellite phone or Spot Satellite emergency device.
Truckers are on channel 19 so that’s the best place for...
I run a 48” steel whip mounted to a bracket on my bed rack cross bars. Great SWR and mounted high for max range. It’s almost invisible from 25ft away unless you’re looking for it. I also chose to run it at the back of the truck as I will sometimes run additional wattage 100+ with an amplifier...
There are still truck drivers listening but definitely less than there used to be. There are still people on the air locally in towns and cities so on road trips I’ll definitely have the “scan” feature on and say hello to locals as I pass through.
My big enjoyment is talking DX (skip) on the CB...
At 25:22 in this video it shows a AT-5000 installed in a Ford Maverick. As a CB guy for years it's pretty cool to see a SSB radio that small and it fits perfectly in the Maverick.
The cabin filter is even worse! I was sitting in the waiting room (back when my truck was under warranty) and heard them tell a lady $120 to change it out. When she sat down I told her the filter is $14 and you can easily do it yourself, she said well, maybe next time I just need it done now...
If there was a Honda or Toyota same price/size as the Maverick I'd make the swap - unless it looked like the Santa Cruz :) If the Ridgeline wasn't so expensive and looked a little more truck like I would have easily taken it over the Maverick, so much nicer quality.
Every time I get in my son's...
I've been a Falken Wildpeak fan for quite a while on my other vehicles so going to the Firestone Destination AT2 was a leap of faith but I'm glad I gave them a try. Going to the 235/70R17 gave the truck a different look and filled the wheel wells while giving a small clearance boost. The larger...
Hi Guys,
Hitting 80,000 and getting ready to do rotors and pads for the first time.
Read a bunch of the threads on brake jobs and I've done a ton in the past but was reading the service manual and it says the following on the rear brakes -
Installation
1. NOTICE: Do not use a C-clamp to...
