Nice write up, and sync's with my own thoughts as well.
I am hearing more road (tire) noise than wind noise.
The inside door handle is in a weird location. There is another thread on the forum where someone got roasted hard for saying that, but it is true. It is further forward than other...
The new Ranger is way too big, so that would be a no from me. I *might* consider changing my Ecoboost Mav for a plug-in hybrid AWD Mav if they make one (and after a few years of production). Not interested in electric-only for the foreseeable future.
My last three vehicles have all been 1999-2011 Rangers, covering about 15 years. I really like the older Ranger and wanted something comparable in size. Absolutely no interest in the huge beast they call a Ranger today.
I just transitioned from a 2011 Ranger XLT extended cab 4x4 with the 4.0...
It is a difficult comparison because the Maverick only comes in a 4 door crew cab, and my 2011 Ranger XLT was an extended cab 4x4. In one sense, there is more space inside the Mav cab, but in another sense I feel like I had more storage space in the Ranger cab since I could stack things behind...
The reason I didn't buy a new Ranger is that they made them bigger again! So glad the Maverick came out! Dimensions are fairly close to my 2011 Ranger.
Testers are cheap if anyone wants to verify their truck wiring works:

I can confirm that my 4k equipped Lariat built the week after that timeframe does not have this problem (verified with a trailer wiring tester plugged into the 4 pin plug, haven't hooked it up to an actual trailer yet).
EDIT: I've since hauled a trailer a few times. No issue with the lights...
