  1. Weird small metal "key" in sealed envelope

I agree! "EMERGENCY TOWING - GASOLINE If you need to tow your vehicle, contact a professional towing service or, if you are a member of a roadside assistance program, your roadside assistance service provider." They have a nice set of instructions for the Hybrid in the owner's manual, but...
  2. Weird small metal "key" in sealed envelope

Nice find!!! Thank you! Where did you find it? Here are some pics to locate it in the engine compartment. It is under that hose circled in red.
  3. Weird small metal "key" in sealed envelope

Where did you find the Service manual PDF?
  4. How to Save $$ Money $$ on Keys by Programming Yourself -- From a Locksmith and Owner :)

I can confirm that this $42 FOB linked below from Amazon works on the 2023 Lariat. However, the programming instructions that @Redneck Garage posted on the first page did not work for me, but here is what did: 1) Get in the vehicle and ensure all the doors and windows are closed. 2) Open the...
  5. Pin removal tool

I think you are right, although it is not clear to me how to do that. I tried prying on it a little bit but it did not budge and I don't want to break it. I suspect there is a locking tab that I'm not seeing. From what I can tell it is a PA-SPS-GF20 connector, but I haven't been able to find...
  6. Pin removal tool

Can someone point me at the correct pin removal tool for this connector? Thank you.
  7. 🙋‍♂️ What did you do TO / WITH your Maverick today?

I have one on order. I also like the raised look. Curious, with the bug shield installed, where do you push down on the hood to close it? I'm assuming not on the bug shield since it is just held on with plastic clips.
  8. Do you have buyers remorse?

I've only owned my 2023 Maverick Lariat Ecoboost for 3 days, but here are my initial thoughts. I've been driving pre-2012 XLT Ford Rangers for 15 years, so I'm used to minimal features and manual analog everything. The digital automation in the Lariat is going to take some getting used to...
  9. What is behind your back seat?

That is exactly where I put one of these: https://www.amazon.com/Fire-2NBFG2704-White-Suppressant-Canisters/dp/B01N28MQQH/
  10. Weird small metal "key" in sealed envelope

I posted a picture of that area on the first page. No hole that I can see, and no cloth rip chord like others have mentioned for the hybrid. It is puzzling, for sure! :-)
  11. Weird small metal "key" in sealed envelope

It was in the vehicle when it came off the car carrier before the dealer processed it. That doesn't mean it wasn't erroneously included... :-)
  12. Weird small metal "key" in sealed envelope

I have no idea where that picture is referring to. I can't find any hole in my center console:
  13. Weird small metal "key" in sealed envelope

I couldn't access that video. Says it is "age restricted" and wanted me to login with a Google account that I don't have. Thank you for looking through it. Any idea where the hole is located? I also don't have a key (Lariat only uses the FOB and a button to start).
  14. Hello Maine Maverick Owners

I really wanted the Rapid Red but they only offered that in 2022. The Hot Pepper Red is growing on me though! :-)
  15. Weird small metal "key" in sealed envelope

I'm only a part time shade tree mechanic... ;-)
  16. Weird small metal "key" in sealed envelope

It does indeed, which of course I don't have. :-) Hopefully someone on here has one and can let us know what the thing is and how to use it. Does seem weird to have this in the vehicle with no mention in the Owner's manual as to what it is. I might even stop by the dealer to ask if no one...
  17. Weird small metal "key" in sealed envelope

Yes, it is just a wiring harness. There is an indentation there for programming/reprogramming more FOBs.
  18. Weird small metal "key" in sealed envelope

    Nothing in there on mine:
  19. Weird small metal "key" in sealed envelope

I did too, but still have no idea what the little key is for.
  20. Hello Maine Maverick Owners

Happy to report I picked up my new 2023 Maverick Lariat Ecoboost on Tuesday from Darlings Brunswick Ford. Overall they were very good to work with, and no shenanigans with the order. They were a little low on the trade-in value for my 2011 Ranger ($6k), so I ended up selling it through the...
