After seeing a dozen friends, neighbors, etc. switching to EV's I started keeping a list of their comments. Have a list of 25-30 EV users and they ALL seem to say the same thing. Most are Tesla's or Nisson Leafs.
1) Most are surprised, pleased with at 0-60 acceleration.
2) None ever complain...
Had one of those coming at me from a tractor trailer on a motorcycle a number of years ago.... Fortunately, it passed over my head/helmet during one of the bounces.
Probably a draw-back from your wrap...that will make it harder to clear mud off....
I did 1,000+ miles of both dust and mud trails over 3 weeks of the Lewis and Clark Trail last summer...The Ceramic Coating I applied to my 2022 Maverick lets the mud and dirt just slide off with a garden hose...
CarFax is not just accidents...
Not always, wife had a rear in wreck and other party's insurance company asked for 3 damage quotes...got the quotes and was paid the average (middle) quote...but it was not convenient to get repairs done right away...and 6 months later had the repairs done by...
Would not sweat the muffler, frame, dents....
For body damage there are some new tools called "Automotive Body Repair Magnets" (and suction cups) (sometimes called "Dent Puller" tools now on the market from Amazon/AliExpress that greatly help in repairing body dents. I rebuild old Porsche...
Have simple solutions for dealing with dealers. (ALWAYS STAY IN THE DRIVER'S SEAT)
1) If I cannot pay cash for a vehicle, I don't buy it...and I let them know IT...I'll pay cash...no dealer financing. (If one can't pay cash the best bet is almost always a Credit Union).
2) I look for deals on...
Currently the little truck makers are waiting for a direction. I personally think it will end up towards some flavor of the Hybrid, or electric with supporting gas generator motor to keep the hybrid charged. (Which Ford has suggested) I am still keeping an eye open for the Volkswagen Scout...
Made a reservation months ago - but main concerns are:
1) Paid $24,670 for my 2022 Maverick Hybrid XLT...lots missing from the Slate.
2) Add speakers, use of Iphone, etc, CarPlay/Screen, etc to get to the functions of my XLT.
3) Heater on an all Electric EV is going to suck mileage from the...
Might try this…I ride until near empty then add 2 gallons higher octane, and fill up with lower grade…That extra octane gives me pretty consistent 42-43 mpg. But recent Michilens Defender tires dropped my MPG by 2 to 3 mpg…Pretty sure it was the tall tread and tread pattern creating wind...
Just my experience with MPG: 2022 Hybrid XLT
First 30,000 miles to date - I was consistently 43.9 mpg.
Replaced OEM Continental Tires for Michelin Defender Tires (same size) and went down to 41.9 mpg.
Tires defiantly the main cause.
Recent 30 days of 25-30 degree temperatures and mpg went down...
Even big Dealerships farm out wrecked vehicles to the "Ma and Pop Body shops". So, so many of them do not subscribe to CarFax or others. I had $960 in body damage last year and asked the body shop if it would be reported on CarFax....response was they never waste their time in paperwork to...
Article seemed to be written by someone who never had either model, Maverick.
I've been fortunate to have had both an EcoBoost (company truck) and a Hybrid (both 2022)...Gads, sold the Ecoboost after 6 months due to MPG..it was a work truck so gasoline cost was a factor... gas bill was almost...
All I can add is don't sign title or anything or provide KEYS until you see a check in hand. A MAJOR dealer purchased my truck, decent price but as soon as they had keys in hand, title signed, and assured me they could cut the check before I left.... they then let me know it would be Monday (2...
If I have a load that extends more than a few feet past the bed I hook up my 8x5 landscape trailer. I use my trailer frequently. Two of the more impressive little things I find on the Maverick is I can quite easily back up the Maverick to my trailer tongue to within 1/2 to 1 inch of the ball...
Increased horsepower = more weight, more suspension, more braking needs, means less mpg, add all the pro's and con's means you might be looking at the wrong vehicle. Such a direction would leave to a $45K Ranger. Ford has made significant hints that the direction of the Maverick is more toward...
The majority of little Maverick hassle issues are found with a Google Search as with this text - To raise your Ford Maverick's wiper blades for cleaning or replacement, use the Wiper Maintenance Mode: turn the ignition on (don't start), then immediately turn it off and hold the wiper stalk up to...
In my younger years I've rebuilt several older Porsche 911 Engines, very hard to get to components 'cause they were made to be easy to work on, lots of body suspension work but I look at projects like battery replacement that are "frankly not a bit of fun if you don't have all the tools needed...
