    A tip: Never toss an unopened can of c ration peanut butter into a campfire. No way you can get it off bare skin before it leaves a mark. I really didn’t mind Cs although pound cake would suck all the moisture out of you body on a hot day in the desert.

    Back in 1954 or early 1955 my dad bought the fourth VW sold in southwest Idaho. Whenever we stopped it drew a crowd, most wanting to see the engine in the rear. Out on the open road Beetle owners always honked and waved when they met and sometimes stopped to compare notes.

    Yep. I’ve got about 600 songs on my iPhone. I get in the truck, lay the phone in the charging pad, pull it up on the screen and rock out.

    My wife wouldn’t have a vehicle without heated seats and she has problems with hand circulation in cold weather so she loves the heated steering wheel too.

    Front plate required in Idaho and if it isn’t there it gives coppers an excuse to pull you over.

    We had a 2008 Ford F150. It formally got 16 mpg on trips. If we used E free it got 20 mpg

    A friend got a Falcon pu back in the 1960s. Had either the 289 or 260 ci v8 and a floor shifter He was a crazy driver (usually drinking). One night he rolled it and lost an ear. When he got out of high school he became a successful auto insurance agent.
