Same thing. I just said "lady" as my most recent experience of this sort, happened to be a lady. I know their are a few very knowledgeable car audio women. But its probably less than 5%.
Yes, I've seen the 30A recommendation, but as I have said, I'm sure that is WAAY underrated, because everyone is so afraid of liability, in a country where anyone, can sue for anything :(
Kicker Keys :) Ha ! That is exactly what I was thinking about for my GF's Maverick :) I agree that during...
I can't speak specifically for the new Lincoln Navigator. But I hear on the car audio forums all the time, "Just got (or test drove) a new ##### and it has the upgraded sound system that everybody was taking about... And it sucked" !
I think just so few people are into big, clean sound, that...
Well as long as the Civic or Corolla are Hybrids. Even small compact ICE's can have rediculous powerful stereo systems and it's not a problem. It's only vehicles that don't have an alternator, but instead work off of a power inverter.
Again, it just seems to me that what I'm asking for shouldn't be such a big deal.
Btw, Toyota will at least tell you an "ultra conservative" number, of 30 amps. If Ford would tell me 40 for the Maverick, I'd be pretty happy with that.
Sounds fun 👍
In my F150, I'm running an 18" sub, with two 15" Passive radiators. Out of around 35 enclosures I've built in the last 35 years, it is the nicest sounding yet. The PR setup costs me a few db's but it is just SO musical, and so tight, you would think you were listening to 10"s 🙂 Oh...
No that's not what I mean by half way decent. I'm 57 yo. And while I do enjoy a rediculous powerful system for short periods of time... Demo's and such, I can hop into my F150 for that 👍 And btw, while my truck makes a lot of bass, it also makes a lot of clean music from mid-bass all the way to...
And that could be somewhat true for the Maverick, but "most" companies don't seem to ever consider that some people like nice sound in their vehicles ☹️
Unfortunately, basically no new vehicles have a stereo system available, that sounds even half way decent > for any price ! This is discussed, and generally agreed upon, all the time on car audio forums. Recently, a guy was talking about the stereo system in his Ferrari sounding like chit...
I don't think wanting to add an aftermarket stereo, is an "astounding" proposition. I'd think this is a common enough thing, that any tech help person should have a few paragraphs of info on this exact subject.
Well, I'd expect Ford to tell you drawing straight from the 12 V battery is a bad idea > But this is exactly how 99% of all the aftermarket car audio systems are wired. Granted, up until now, 99% of aftermarket stereos have been installed in ICE vehicles, with old school alternators.
IMPO...
first off, I'm sorry, but it freaking kills me when I call by phone, to talk to a Ford representative with a technical question, and they connect me with some lady, most likely at home in her living room, and maybe changing her kids diapers, or feeding the dog, while she tries to answer my...
100% for the mileage. If I needed more power, I'd buy something else. JMPO, but even the Maverick with the 2.0L eco boost is not a real work truck. Then again, even if I were in the market for a work truck, Id be looking for something which was bigger / more heavy duty, but still a hybrid, and...
Well it's funny.... I've worked on, changed, and tweaked the setup in my F150 for 13 years now, so as one might expect, I've got it sounding pretty darn good. Also, with the amount and size of the equipment I have in my truck, one would say it had "better sound good", or that would be a big...
Well, if it were mine, it would get all tinted glass, and aftermarket tires and wheels. Will probably come with a bedcover.
But since the one we get will be my GF's, I think the only thing she will probably want, is for me to put a nice sounding stereo system in it.... Which likely use the stock...
And if you will remember, I had asked if my GF might be able to get the one I ordered instead of me, since I will not be getting mine ?
I'm thinking we should go down and talk to them about this ahead of time...
Oh, and do you think hers will be ready sooner than mine, because she did not add a...
