It looks to me like there are a few companies, perhaps just one with different brands, that are now offering the FELT panel with the AWD scoop for the PTU, but I'm not sure I wanna spend $70-80 for it since I just need the scoop...
Some of the messages that are displayed on modern vehicles, including this one, are the equivalent of a crying baby. It's telling you something is wrong, but not the cause.
Fortunately, unlike babies, the Maverick will spit out diagnostic codes. If you stop by your local auto parts store, they...
So I would split the problem here into three parts:
1. Comms for safety
2. Truck battery
3. Portable battery
First, if you're in the middle of nowhere without cell service often, I highly, highly recommend a satellite communicator like Zoleo or Garmin InReach. I have a Zoleo that I take...
I try to stay away from making political statements on forums. Half of the forum won't agree with me anyway. Instead, I focus on whining about the realities of owning a relatively inexpensive truck in modern times with squeaks, rattles, and battery failures.
Maybe I do need a timeout. Milk and...
Would be interesting to see if Ford updates the battery type in the software...I manually flipped mine to AGM when I put my own AGM in there with Forscan. But perhaps the software would have done that anyway as part of the overnight 8 hour relearning procedure.
I wish the Ford bot were still here. Maybe they could tell me who I can submit my bill to for my labor and cost of the AGM that I bought aftermarket in order to fix the issue caused by their garbage supplier QC.
TIL what a buckboard is. My Bulgarian grandpa used to own something similar and I rode in it many times in the 1990s. It was pulled by a donkey.
I'll take my FX4, even with the rattles. 😁
I do enjoy it. It's a very dynamic vehicle, especially for the price, and I appreciate that very much. I can go explore forest service roads, then stomp on the gas on the onramp for even more fun. And it handles pretty damn well.
In general, I agree. But I'm past leaving it at the service department with my poor experiences so far. My last visit, I was informed that it would have to be there 2-3 weeks. Not happening.
The headliner on the right side of mine sags a bit. The whole thing never quite went back right, especially since the headliner was taken down twice because Evergreen Ford left parts off my initial recall and it had to be rechecked by the dealer I bought it from. Unfortunately, they're cut...
The HVAC on the Maverick is so good that I rarely have it on high for more than a few seconds, even when my vehicle has been sitting in summer sun in the mountains here in Washington. The blower itself doesn't sound loud to me, just the moving air.
I have very little concerns with the quality of the assembly. And that was for a truck manufactured in late 2021, one of the first to roll off the line. But the provided fit and finish as a result of a race to the bottom is poor. Dash rattles, door rattles, etc.
Just an example, here's the...
