  1. Newbie - active louver question

I can confirm that the active louvers open and close on the non-hybrid Eco w/4K tow pkg. when you start the truck's engine. Yesterday, I was looking at the front area and discovered that the active louvers for the tranny cooler had a leaf stuck in it. I also noticed that they didn't look...
  2. New User from N.E. Ohio

Yesterday, I was looking at the front and discovered that the active louvers for the tranny cooler had a leaf stuck in it. I also noticed that they didn't look symmetrical across...like one was busted but the lower louver had somehow got caught on the next one up on the driver's side. So, I...
  3. Converting passenger seat into electric?

Yes. happily for 3 years since 1989. j/k
  4. Converting passenger seat into electric?

Hmm....an ejection seat might be nice.
  5. Racked and Ready! (for canoe transport)

Well, the Grummans have their place on Boy Scout trips banging down rocky rivers but they aren't as good for wilderness tripping where weight on portages and glide are more important. Your's is in the style of the Chestnut Prospector-type of design which invokes Boll Mason's inspiration...
  6. Racked and Ready! (for canoe transport)

Now you've got me interested in what brand of Prospector Canoe you've got there. My 17' doesn't have to stick out so far. I like being able to see the bow above the hood so that I know it hasn't blown off.
  7. Cheapest viable naked roof cross bars?

I know nothing about these but I'd be wary based upon the reviewers comments which include bad instructions, a few had parts missing, not without wind noise.... One person may have not installed them properly and had one come loose. So, I'd probably look elsewhere. There are less expensive...
  8. Racked and Ready! (for canoe transport)

Nice setup with the tonneau cover in place. I have to roll mine up to carry it over the roof line with my rack . But Is that wide orange flag required or could I just add a strip of my old hunter orange flannel underwear?
  9. Filling fuel tank

they have a grate under the filling area where the overflow goes after it runs down your body paint.

    Maverick Old Farts

Welcome!!. Hope that your new truck is being enjoyable.
  11. Choose wisely: Hybrid or Ecoboost

As much as we'd like to hate the Cyber thing.... it would haul 4K pretty easily.
  12. Choose wisely: Hybrid or Ecoboost

Yep. I actually mentioned this in post #54 :-) Although, you won't be getting the 40 MPG while towing 4,000 lb trailer.
  13. Choose wisely: Hybrid or Ecoboost

In Ohio the annual registration is 100 /yr for hybrid. 150/ yr for plug in hybrid and 200/yr for elec. above the regular fees.
  14. Choose wisely: Hybrid or Ecoboost

FWIW, the 2025 version will have the option of AWD and 4k pkg for the Hybrid 2.5L https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a61730290/2025-ford-maverick-refresh-revealed/
  15. Choose wisely: Hybrid or Ecoboost

Interesting. I believe that some of the other differences are the tranny, final drive ratio, trans cooler and upgraded engine cooling system, select drive modes may be different. Is there a Tow mode on the Hybrid? Frankly, It'd be something to consider for my situation if they would have offered...
  16. Choose wisely: Hybrid or Ecoboost

Details? What do you think is a safe tow weight for your Hybrid and what have you done to boost it? Just curious.
  17. Choose wisely: Hybrid or Ecoboost

I think that would depend upon your road conditions. It probably hist AWD as needed pretty quickly but would still do FWD on damp roads. What I like is that it's pretty efficient as a gas vehicle is concerned. A friend has a 1963 409 and the Mav w/4K is faster according to the specs on 0-60...
  18. Choose wisely: Hybrid or Ecoboost

about the post #2 above yours. My driving routine is 6 x 17mile trips to work on the freeway at 65-70 weekly and a trip or two on country roads each week up to our boat dock at 55mph. Those back road trips are flat, few stops, and almost devoid of traffic so I can roll down the small hills and...
  19. Choose wisely: Hybrid or Ecoboost

I could not choose the hybrid even if I were in favor of all the advantages because I needed the 4K tow pkg. So, don't get me wrong. I'm not at all anti-hybrid or Elec. My former vehicle was a 2017 Escape 2.0L FWD and it would get at best about 32.5MPG in the summer. I'm pleasantly surprised...
  20. Rear ended Maverick hit so badly it flips.

In all seriousness, I would not have wanted anybody to go through that experience.
