🤣 there's that lol. I can't scrape fog off the windows though lol. Those stupid glazes of ice will fog the hell out of the inside of the windows. Generally by the time the scraping and brushing is done, the windows should be almost clear. Wish I couldve gotten rear defrost on my XL.
My 23 XL sounded like a diesel plenty of times this past March after I had first gotten it. A good bunch of hybrids sound surprisingly loud at cold startups. I think it's something to do with the Atkinson cycle engines. It never worried me because I've just seen so many loud hybrids in the...
I had deep sleep problems with my 23 XL hybrid. It was the first one my dealer had, luckily they took it very seriously. (Unlike some of the horror stories I've seen here.)
The foreman even gave me his number and would call me a few times about specifics. Repair was explained as a higher...
I'm pretty confident that we have now established that seeing the filter siding is normal. This topic could probably be linked to whenever anyone in the future has the same question. 👍
TC, how was your old filter looking after the 20k miles?
As long as I could charge overnight on 120, and it wasn't a massive premium, I would do it in a heartbeat. But for now, my hybrid XL couldn't be more perfect for my needs. The cost/value of a 23 XL hybrid for 22 MSRP is not something I could do better than.
Lol all these posts about running your tanks near empty make me want to take the plunge and run the 10 miles past "empty" so I can finally join the 700 mile/tank club 🤣
Mine shudders a little when the engine is cold, it's never bothered me too much, but my wife says she hates it when it does that lol. It's done it since the day I got it. It's only within the first 5 minutes of moving, any kind of movement from the the temp gauge and it's not going to do it...
The oil that looks like it's been there for a while could possibly be from another oil change spill. It should be very easy to see if you're actually dripping though, if you're leaving spots everywhere you park, you're definitely leaking, unless it's just the remainder of whatever was spilled...
Been looking at Continental viking contact 7s. Heard and seen nothing but good things, and they're a few hundred less than Michelin xice despite outperforming them on snow and ice. There's newer budget nokian nordmans available too for a good price, but it does seem like the Vikings are better...
Lol I've been seriously looking at Continental krytotals for my mountain bike! 🤣 Not sure I want to give up my maxxis ardents low rolling resistance, but I absolutely hate it as a front tire.
On topic... I see lots of bashing on the stock Continentals, but at almost 8k, mine have been just...
7300 miles and mine still look like new. I'm satisfied with mine overall, but I do plan to buy a set of dedicated winter tires, because they aren't great for Maine winters lol. Got my maverick late February, I was too cheap to buy a set of snows that late in the winter 🤣
Yup I can vouch for that. I'm really impressed with the highway ride, it never feels underpowered, and the ride is surprisingly nice. I'm still teasing my wife that my truck is better on gas than her hatchback, she's gone from getting annoyed to thinking it's funny lol.
Honestly, I was skeptical about the transmission, but no gear hunting ever, and the sheer smoothness sold me. I can't speak for longevity obviously, but it's surpassed all my expectations by a lot so far. Even if I were nitpicking, the tranny is probably near the back of the line 🤣
