-20 is about the coldest we regularly get, although we had a -50 cold snap overnight that cracked my goddamn driveway a few years ago 🤬 I can still get 40mpg in -20, I didn't have my maverick yet during that extreme cold snap. But I can absolutely confirm that -20 is no problem. I bet you get...
I still get 40mpg in Maine winters, and Im not special in that regard. The hybrids gonna spank the Ecoboost in MPG no matter what. The battery pack is really small on these things, that's why they only cost 2 grand. Plus the cabin heats up much faster in the cold.
This. You can coast down pretty steep hills while simultaneously maintaining speed and charging your battery.
I can also add that the electric motor adds a lot of torque at takeoff. Never being deficient in power while always getting over 40mpg is what sold me on mine.
Good catch. I admit I've had a few beers, but I completely missed that 🤣
It's either your driving conditions or style, because lots of us hybrid guys here can smoke that 31mpg average with 900lbs in the bed. Not hating or anything at all, you might have lots of hills for all I know. 👍
Your gonna need more than the Ecoboost has to offer for that 🤣
Also, to address all the bashing PMS I got... My reason for saying the Ecoboost is pointless now was because the hybrid can now tow the same, and has AWD now. If that small performance increase is what you want, go ahead. But I...
My contis are still holding up, although they got noticeably louder around the 10k mark, and they now chirp almost every time I pull onto main roads from the side roads. Braking traction remains spectacular, they ride fine, and despite multiple people saying wet traction sucks, I've been...
I mean, it's not like you're losing your shirt on the deal. If it's what you want, and it's not going to negatively affect your financials, then I say go for it. Personally, I'm keeping my 23 XL hybrid, but that AWD and 4k is extremely tempting.
I honestly didn't think they'd have AWD for the hybrid. 4k towing is a huge surprise. Ecoboost is a waste of time now. I wonder how popular XL AWD hybrids will be? I'm extremely happy with my 23 XL hybrid, but an AWD+4K hybrid XL is tempting.
Have you noticed a drop in mpg? My trucks got almost 16k, and the stock contis look good. But I ran a set of snows over the winter, so I'm guessing, I'm only at 10ish K with them.
